You probably wouldn't believe me if I told you we were talking about Brow Boss Babe Lexi Bowler. Yeah, The Lexi Bowler. microblading artist, manufacturer, and educator. The one and only.
Listen, we all have to start somewhere. Everyone starts out their beauty business and basically the same place. We're all scared, we're all intimidated, we don't really know what to do, and we're worried we're gonna fail every step of the way. But if you keep going you eventually reach success. And then you just keep reaching.
In this episode, Lexi and I talk all about the start of her business. How she started from the bottom and built up her beauty empire to the 30k followers on Instagram she has right now as well as her uber-successful PMU product and education business. There's so much that you can learn from Lexi, no matter where you are in your career.
Here are the episode highlights:

Sheila Bella:
She said she was sucky at brows. She said that she messed up people's shapes. She says that she went too deep. She says that her career wasn't fun. You wouldn't believe it if I told you who was saying all this. It's Lexi Bowler. Yeah. Of Bowler Esthetics. On today's episode of Pretty Rich Podcast I interview Lexi Bowler, the mega microblading superstar with almost 30,000 followers on Instagram. Her artistry is insane. Her blades are sharp and she has built a pretty incredible online community. In hopes that you don't feel so alone, especially in the beginning of your career, in case you think you're crazy, in case you think your life is doomed and you'll never make it, you may be surprised how alike you, me, and Lexi Bowler are. Hard lessons learned in the PMU industry with the one and only Lexi Bowler.
Hey you guys, it's Sheila Bella. I'm so excited to be hanging with you again. And today I have a friend, Pretty Ambitious Summit speaker, Lexi Bowler. She is the owner and creator of Bowler Esthetics and she has developed one of the sharpest and finest blades on the market. She's a master microblading artist and trainer. She's super cute too. She is a business owner, wife, and she's a mama. I know this audience is absolutely going to eat this guest up because she's just like us. She understands the hustle and bustle of everyday life, running a business, prioritizing family and time and friends. And ah, the list goes on. And today we're going to talk about everything she's learned building her PMU business and what you can do to avoid the same pitfalls. This industry has changed both of our lives and we're so excited to share and have this conversation recorded live for you guys.
Because a lot of you guys are afraid, right? We are all afraid, what do I mean a lot of you guys? I'm afraid. I posted something on Instagram today that was just naming all of the feelings. I'm scared to start. I'm scared to post. I'm scared to go live. I'm scared to take my first client, my fifth client, my 500th client. I'm scared to take that advanced class. I'm scared to embarrass myself. I'm afraid of judgment. I'm afraid to invest. I'm afraid of the unknown. Jesus, it's so normal and it happens at every level because I feel you. I am terrified right now recording this, wondering what are you guys going to think after I post this?
But I want to share a little bit of background of where I'm coming from right now that I have three things that I am terrified of that are coming up in my life. Number one, I'm afraid of my upcoming explant surgery in November. Yeah, that freaks me out. The unknown is scary. Number two, I'm scared to launch the new structure for the American Academy of Micropigmentation as the new president. I'm afraid of judgment. I'm afraid of what people are going to say. What are they going to say to each other when I'm not there? Is it going to be good enough? And I'm also afraid of the Pretty Ambitious Summit. I'm afraid of this first, my first live event has 300 attendees. I have thoughts like, "What makes me think I can do this? Who do I think I am?" It's nuts, right? So those are my three dragons. So if you're afraid of things that are coming up in your life right now, I want you to know that you're not alone.
I am with you and I'm going to explant, I'm going to launch the new AAM tiers, and I'm going to slay my first live event with 300 attendees. I'm going to do it because experience has taught me that when things are scary, it's usually a sign that it's where you need to lean in most. Think about everything good you've ever accomplished or anything that you've ever been proud of. Every time you've done something that mattered or meant something to you, you must have had to do something hard. Right? Whenever fear comes, you have to change your relationship with it. Stop hiding from it. Instead, choose to dance with the fear. All that good wisdom, that's in the hard stuff not the easy stuff. A better strategy is to be on the offense as opposed to the defense. Fight back because everything you need, everything you want, everything you've ever dreamed of has always been on the other side of doing something scary first. And that's why I always say you can't beat fear so you got to do it scared. That's the secret, that's the big fat secret.
So before we jump into this awesome interview with Lexi, here's a quick reminder about the Pretty Ambitious Summit. Hey. Have you ever been to a permanent makeup conference and thought, "Oh my gosh, I'm kind of falling asleep. Oh no." Have you ever looked at the speakers up there and thought, "Wow, I wonder how they did it. How are they up there? How do they build such influence? And how did they build their businesses? How are they always booked out with students and clients for months and months?" Ever wonder how she built that online course and thought, "I wish I could do that." Or think, "Oh my goodness. How did she develop such amazing products and become profitable doing so? What are the steps I need to take in order to do the same?"
Well, you can find out at the Pretty Ambitious Summit, March 13th through 15th, 2020 in Santa Monica, California. Finally, the ultimate girl power live event for PMU boss babes like you. Where the focus is on growing the business side of things. Where you can learn PMU marketing, product development, and mindset strategies so you can finally break through whatever is holding you back. For some of you it might be knowledge, but for others it might be lack of confidence or it might be both. My whole mission with the Pretty Ambitious Summit is to create what I needed 10 years ago. I needed this event and here it is for you now. Myself, all the incredible speakers, and master coaches right by the legendary beaches of Los Angeles will surely transform you in this enlightening and educational business and mindset weekend.
And it's a write-off. Hello? Free vacation, right? Free vacation with your PMU brow besties. And if you're coming alone, no problem. Because this weekend was designed for you to meet your tribe. This is an opportunity for you to build your own table the same way I did, the same way we all had to do in this industry. So quit trying to do it alone because beauty bossing is hard. It's so hard, right? And it can be such a lonely road. We know that, you know that. And here you will find like-minded ambitious and kind women who get it, who get you the way nobody else does in your own circle at home. They don't know, they don't do PMU. They're not trying to do big things, right?
My friends in this industry have been so valuable to my growth and my business. And seriously, I want to meet you. I want to see you guys face to face. I want to hear your stories and get to know what you're all about. So if you crave inspiration, genuine connection, and you're ready to level up your personal and professional game, you need to be there. Tickets are selling out fast. VIP tickets are already sold out so you got to get them before they're all gone. If there is a small, still voice inside of you telling, "Yes, this is for me. I need this. I need to do something different." Don't overthink this one because you deserve to be in that room. Invest in you. You deserve it because your life and your business can only go as high as you grow as a woman. So go to prettyambitioussummit.com and I'll meet you at the top where ambitious women empower each other.
Hi everyone. Welcome to Pretty Rich Podcast. Today I have Lexi Bowler. Hi Lexi.
Lexi Bowler:
So excited to be on. Thanks for having me Sheila.
Sheila Bella:
I'm really excited to have you here. So I'm excited because I told her before we hit record that we're going to hit record and this is basically going to be like our first date, but we're recording it for you guys.
Lexi Bowler:
Yes. So excited, blind. Wasn't a blind day though luckily.
Sheila Bella:
So I am excited for our audience and everybody who's going to be seeing you at the Pretty Ambitious Summit to get to know you even before they see you. I want them to see you at the summit and feel like they know you, they feel like they are you and you were them. So when I go through these lists of questions, I don't want you to be shy. I don't want you to hold anything back. If I ask you to brag about yourself, please do because this is the space to do it and I really want to know everything. So I want to start off though with a quick five question, like just quick get to know. Sound good?
Lexi Bowler:
Okay. Yes.
Sheila Bella:
Okay. Where are you from and where'd you grow up?
Lexi Bowler:
Okay. So I was originally born in Vegas and then we moved to St. George when I was one. I know everybody is like, "Oh, Vegas cool." But I lived there for only a hot second. And so I grew up my whole life in St. George, Utah where I live right now.
Sheila Bella:
Amazing. And you you're married and you have a baby, right?
Lexi Bowler:
Yep. I've been married for four and a half years. My hubby and I were high school sweethearts and our little guy is three.
Sheila Bella:
Oh, what's your little guy's name?
Lexi Bowler:
Crew.
Sheila Bella:
Aw, so cute. I love that you post photos of your family all the time. I always give it lots of hearts. Favorite quote, do you have a favorite quote for us?
Lexi Bowler:
Now I can't think of one off the top of my head. Anything that's girly boss mom mode.
Sheila Bella:
Everything on BossBabe, Inc. basically.
Lexi Bowler:
Yes, exactly.
Sheila Bella:
Everything. All those quotes.
Lexi Bowler:
I love it all, I love it all.
Sheila Bella:
Good answer. I can't. That's probably the best answer I've gotten. Everything on BossBabe, Inc.
Lexi Bowler:
Yep. I'll take it all.
Sheila Bella:
And girly. Okay, awesome. Do you have a book or a podcast recommendation that's really helped you make significant changes in your life?
Lexi Bowler:
Significant Changes? I would say the podcast has helped me the most is the MFCEO Project. Have you heard of that?
Sheila Bella:
Yeah, Andy Frisella?
Lexi Bowler:
Yes. He's my man. So he literally changed Derrek and I, our marriage, our life. Yeah, I love him.
Sheila Bella:
That's amazing. I hear a lot of good things about that and have a lot of friends who listened to that podcast and I have too. That's so funny. Do you have a microblading tip? Like a quick microblading tip you can give?
Lexi Bowler:
Yes. Let's see. As far as depths goes I'll give one real quick on depth, to make sure to stretch super, super tight because then the needle will just glide over the skin and you won't have to push into it.
Sheila Bella:
Very good. Very good. Yep. My fingers right now are actually like hurting. I just did two procedures back to back.
Lexi Bowler:
Oh yeah.
Sheila Bella:
And yeah, that's so important. Right? Especially if you have subpar tools. If you do.
Lexi Bowler:
True.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah. Or if you're testing out new things. Yeah. If you have a subpar tool, if you stretch it makes it all so much more smoother.
Lexi Bowler:
100%.
Sheila Bella:
I want you to now get out of your head.
Lexi Bowler:
Okay.
Sheila Bella:
I want you to tell us all of the things you're proudest of in your career. What are your career highlights? List as many. Do you have awards? What are your? Your follow count is growing every single day. I see it, the figures. What accomplishments, career accomplishments, are you proudest of? Don't be shy.
Lexi Bowler:
Oh my gosh. Yeah. Definitely have to get out of my head about it. Because I think it's so true, we don't talk about our accomplishments a lot or things that mean the most to us. But I think that my group, for sure my online group is my number one accomplishment just because it has created such a safe space and loving space for artists to come and come together and have support in the industry. And I'm super freaking proud of that, I'm not going to lie, just because I'm proud of everybody who's in the group, who's made it what it is.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah.
Lexi Bowler:
All the women who've invited their friends and who've been kind to each other. I just feel like it's a loving and inspiring group and that's just because of everybody in it.
Sheila Bella:
The women that are in it. Men and women or just women?
Lexi Bowler:
Just women are in it. But I mean, men are welcome to.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah. If they're not intimidated by us.
Lexi Bowler:
Yeah, right.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah, absolutely. But how many procedures have you done now and how long have you been in the industry?
Lexi Bowler:
I have no idea how many procedures I have done, but definitely I'd say thousands because I've been in the industry for three years and before I trained that's all I did full time, like six days a week. So I love it. It's the best. It's the best industry in the world, it really is.
Sheila Bella:
Aw, that's awesome. How many followers do you have now on Instagram? Don't you have like a zillion?
Lexi Bowler:
I have 28,000.
Sheila Bella:
28,000 followers on Instagram. That's a lot of people. Do you know what that might look like in a room?
Lexi Bowler:
No, I have no idea.
Sheila Bella:
Why do you think people follow you?
Lexi Bowler:
Either they're looking for their makeup to be done or they're looking for PMU inspo if they're new artists.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah, absolutely. I think that's an important question for people to ask is, why do people even follow you? Why do people follow me? Because if you're not giving value, then maybe that's why you don't have a lot of followers. I see you do give a lot of value, a lot of educational value in your posts and you also let us in which I really like. I'm such a fan of that. Congratulations.
Lexi Bowler:
Hey, thank you. I mean it's something that I've been trying to let more people in and be more vulnerable. Because I want people to really know me and know my journey. So that's why I love your stuff is because you're real.
Sheila Bella:
Thank you. Tell us about your journey. If people really knew the real Lexi Bowler, what would they know to be true about you that people who just look at your page may not know?
Lexi Bowler:
I mean the people who really know me, yeah. I feel people get to see a different side because I'm definitely have a lot of insecurities about my work, my trainings. Am I putting out good enough content? My journey from the beginning wasn't ... I wasn't always good. I started out when I was sucky, just like everybody is when we start. Right? And I had goals of I wanted to have a full time schedule, but I messed up people's brows. I messed up the shapes, I went too deep. And so that caused me a ton of stress and anxiety. So in the beginning, I don't think that my career was as fun.
And especially cause in the beginning, I actually don't know if I've talked about this before, but we struggled so bad financially. And a lot of the reason for me getting into microblading was just so we could pay the bills. Because I was doing lashes and that provided a decent amount of income, but not enough for what we needed and we were trying to build another side hustle on the side that wasn't working out. So a lot of people come into the industry in that type of situation and maybe they feel alone, they feel guilty they're just trying to do it for money. But literally that was just kind of where I started. And so it was very, very hard and stressful and yeah, I didn't get to share that at the time because you try to put on this face of everything's all good and it's all going great and I'm super busy. But I definitely had my struggles.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah. Relatable, super.
Lexi Bowler:
Yes.
Sheila Bella:
It was definitely like that for me too. I felt like I had to put on this, "I'm super busy," front. Especially in the beginning because I really hadn't done anybody.
Lexi Bowler:
Don't want to act desperate.
Sheila Bella:
Oh man. But we made a commitment to get this thing started. Right? And then so-
Lexi Bowler:
100%.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah. So what did you do in the beginning? What did you do? Take us back to that, those first three months. Take us back. What was that like?
Lexi Bowler:
I mean, as far as what I would do with my clients. If I had a bad client, my husband is always my hype team. I'd be crying on the bed, "I messed up this lady's eyebrows and she," but most people they're so sweet. They're like, "Oh, I love them." And you know deep down you're like, "These are not good." But I feel like my husband encouraged me a lot and I didn't feel like I had anybody really though to turn to ask questions. And so I did spend a lot of time alone or on YouTube trying to figure stuff out.
And I stayed up late a lot too because I learned how to do microblading two weeks before I had my baby boy. And so when he got into the world, I was still ... I had to go back to work six or seven days after. I was going to say six weeks. I was like, "No, it was not six weeks. I wish it was." I went to work about a week after because we had to make money, we were in the red before he came. And so I did a ton of Instagram posts and specials and I just really had to put myself out there, even though I was scared as hell because I knew that I wasn't even good. But I had to make money and provide and help provide for my family.
Sheila Bella:
Amazing, amazing. And again, super relatable I think for a lot of people listening. Six days. Do you feel like you weren't really able to enjoy the baby moon?
Lexi Bowler:
Yeah, for sure. I mean, at the time I didn't even realize the health department was a really big deal. So I was like, "Yeah, it's fine. It's whatever." So I had a room at the front of my house and it was just when you walked in it was an office space and it had wood floors so I was like, "We're good. Right?" But I just had my little guy in his little bouncer and I would just put him in. He slept a lot so. But it was hard because I didn't just get to cuddle all day with my baby and be with him 100%. And so yeah, but I didn't have a choice at the time.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah. Yeah. Wow. So you and your husband switched off, right?
Lexi Bowler:
Yeah. So we were trying to build a network marketing business and at first it was doing decent. And then when we had the baby, it wasn't doing well at all. And so we were just in this transitioning phase of literally what do we do with our life? Where do we go? Where do we turn?
Sheila Bella:
You guys are really close. High school sweethearts, I can tell. I can tell that he's a big part of your team. It's you and him.
Lexi Bowler:
Oh yeah.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah, it's the two of you all the time. When I see you, you don't come alone. I see him too. That's really beautiful.
Lexi Bowler:
Yeah. It's definitely that way and it's not what we planned on it being, but I wouldn't have it any other way because now he's equal partners in the business and I couldn't do it without him so.
Sheila Bella:
Wow. So he works with you?
Lexi Bowler:
Yeah so he does all my videography, all my filming for my training videos. And then now he ships our product, which is fun and does a lot of the back end stuff. So it is-
Sheila Bella:
Amazing.
Lexi Bowler:
-very nice to be a team, for sure. And have the same goals and ambitions.
Sheila Bella:
That's really, really great. Yeah. That's really, really great. Now I want to go back to Lexi as a child. Name some of the hardest things that you've had to overcome. Did you ever have to overcome like bullying, teasing? What kind of household did you grow up in? Did adults put you down? Were girls cliquey? I'm sure they were cliquey because they're always cliquey so.
Lexi Bowler:
Always cliquey, never not cliquey.
Sheila Bella:
I know.
Lexi Bowler:
Yeah. I think growing up I've actually been diving into my past lately and going to therapy and getting help and tools to overcome things that I've been through. Just because I want to be stronger through them.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah, I love therapy. I'm a fan.
Lexi Bowler:
Yes. I'm a fan too, for sure. It's helped me out a lot. I came from my, both my parents loved me very much. My parents didn't end up going through a divorce, but they did have their hard times with affairs and other things like that. And so my childhood my parents weren't always together, which was really hard. And I grew up an only child basically because my brother's a lot older than I am. So that has definitely shaped me in my life in more ways than I would have known, especially now that I'm an adult and all of our stuff from our past comes up. We got to deal with it.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah. It comes up right? Like, "That's over." Like, "Nope, nope. Here I am, I'm still here."
Lexi Bowler:
Like shove that ride back down, but no I mean I love my parents so much and I'm grateful for the things that I've gone through because it's made me stronger. But we all have our things. Right? We all have our battles in our past.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah. What's your battle?
Lexi Bowler:
My current battle? Which one?
Sheila Bella:
Yeah. Tell me about it.
Lexi Bowler:
I mean I have battles in my personal life, in my marriage. We definitely don't have a perfect marriage, but we're always working on it and striving to get better. And I think I battle a lot, mostly in the industry with feeling insecure. Like I said, I want to provide the best value to my students whether they're online or in person. I put a lot of pressure on myself to do that because I want my courses to be worth the money. I want people to walk away feeling like they got it all. So I feel like I'm really, really hard on myself like most of us women are. Right?
Sheila Bella:
Yeah. How do you deal with that? Being hard on yourself?
Lexi Bowler:
First of all, my husband always gives me great pep talk. Have people in your corner who give you pep talks. And I also feel like taking a step back and recognizing the things that are going right and having a positive mindset. I truly feel like whatever I think in my mind manifests. I believe in that and so if I'm thinking, "Okay, this weekend is going to go great. Things are going to fall into place. My students are going to love it." Then that helps. But I mean, come on, my mind's not always that in check.
Sheila Bella:
No, no. We all struggle with that. I love that it's so apparent to me that you have a great environment. And by environment I mean a support system because the people around you shape your thoughts. That is your environment. You know what I mean? The thoughts that you surround yourself with.
Lexi Bowler:
100%.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah. So has there ever been a time where you had to maybe ask somebody to leave your environment?
Lexi Bowler:
I've never had to ask someone, but I feel like it has just naturally taken place over time.
Sheila Bella:
Yes.
Lexi Bowler:
And I know I heard this on another podcast that some people are roots in your tree and others are branches. I've had relationships that once were strong and maybe they aren't as much anymore. I mean, I saw your post this morning about how people can judge you as you start to become successful or they might not understand. And so there are a lot of people that I feel like maybe who have seen me, who I'm not. They've cast a judgment or, and so because of that I've had to set boundaries. But I think that that's a natural process.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah. Yeah. People will tell you how they feel about you or how supportive they are. They'll tell you based on their actions and their words and their patterns, they're telling you they don't like you. But yet you still keep chasing them or I think that's a pattern that we all have. But if you really listen, if you really listen, then you'll understand for real that this person is not happy for you.
Lexi Bowler:
Right. Right.
Sheila Bella:
Isn't that funny?
Lexi Bowler:
They might say it, but they act different. Yes.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah. And I think for a lot of us, it takes us just so long to just pull the trigger already.
Lexi Bowler:
No, totally.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah, and spending less time.
Lexi Bowler:
It can be hard.
Sheila Bella:
Absolutely because we care about those people. So I want to talk about how you have leveraged your success. You're going to talk a lot more about passive income at the summit, I know that.
Lexi Bowler:
Yes.
Sheila Bella:
But what clicked in your head when you were like, "Oh my gosh. I should have an online community and online courses to help people." Or, "I should have a microblade. I should have products." And now you're about to have your after care. What clicked in you to think bigger? Because I feel like not everybody, in our industry especially, thinks as big. They don't think beyond the chair, they just think, "Okay-
Lexi Bowler:
Yeah.
Sheila Bella:
"Service, client. That's it."
Lexi Bowler:
Okay, right.
Sheila Bella:
So what made you different? When did you start thinking that way and why did you start thinking that way?
Lexi Bowler:
I think that for me, I started to do in person advanced trainings and I loved that. I loved being able to help women who are already in the industry and to see them grow in their career. It brought me such fulfillment and so the online industry, I feel like you can reach everybody across the world which makes it so nice. And so I would have people asking me these questions on Instagram and trying to gain education through that. And I loved doing that so I thought to myself, "Okay, let's" ... My husband, it was his idea to do the subscription platform. So he's like, "Let's make this affordable for people." Because I thought about me. I needed something in the beginning that would give me confidence and education, but also have a support group. But I wouldn't have been able to afford something big upfront.
Sheila Bella:
That's awesome.
Lexi Bowler:
So that's kind of why we set it up the way that we did. But yeah, I just wanted .. my big idea was, "Okay, there's a need in the industry for a community and affordable education. So let's fricking do this."
Sheila Bella:
Just like that. But I know it seems like-
Lexi Bowler:
Well, that was the initial thought.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah. I know for listeners who are listening to this, that sounds so simple. And maybe for some of you, you might be thinking like, "Oh, that's too simple." But it really is that simple. It is. You see a need, right? You see a need, you fill the need, and most of the time it's your own need but just a few years ago.
Lexi Bowler:
Yeah.
Sheila Bella:
And yeah. And here's the thing, I think people are waiting until they're masters at this or they've done a bunch of celebrities. You know what I mean? But you just ... you're being called to just help the people who are behind you, who are around the corner who just haven't turned that corner that you've turned. For those people who are like, "Oh, I got to wait until I have all of these accolades and more skill." If you can just create something that will help the people who are not doing as well as you, I think that you don't have to wait until you're perfect. I think that there's a lot of room there for not only helping people, but also financial gain for us to be able to support our families.
Lexi Bowler:
Totally.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah, definitely. I'm not trying to help anybody who's doing better than me. Please.
Lexi Bowler:
Right.
Sheila Bella:
And here's the natural flow of the universe is those people aren't downloading your stuff. Those people aren't subscribers. You know what I mean? They're not following you.
Lexi Bowler:
Right, right.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah. So yeah, they're buying your stuff for a reason because it's helpful. And yeah I just want to encourage you guys to think bigger. Go ahead.
Lexi Bowler:
Oh, sorry. I was just going to say my friend Janelle at the Blaze Project, she always tells me that too whenever I'm getting discouraged or down on myself. She'll be like, "Listen, you don't have to be the best in the freaking world. You just have to be better than the people who aren't at your level yet." Because we're all at different levels and different stages so.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah, absolutely. Speaking of which, how are you feeling about speaking at the Pretty Ambitious Summit? We're expecting close to 300 people. Have you ever spoken in front of that many people before? Probably, right?
Lexi Bowler:
Absolutely not. Oh my gosh, no. I've never spoken in front of that many people. I'm very, very nervous, but also equally excited because I'm definitely talking about something I'm passionate about and that's helped my family and I feel like I do have value to offer in that topic. So yeah I'm excited, but I'm going to need to get some coaching from you.
Sheila Bella:
Okay. I think a lot of the speakers are telling me that. I'm like, "Girl, you're good." But yeah, I'd be happy to. Tell us about your topic and why you're passionate about it. What is it? I don't think everyone knows. I know what it is.
Lexi Bowler:
Yeah. I'm going to be talking about how to create passive income. And so I'm definitely passionate about it just because it's so true that most of the time you're just thinking, "Okay, I need to get clients into my studio, into my chair so that I can make money." But there's so many ways you can make money while you literally sleep or while you're on vacation. And that's the kind of money you want to get your hands on is residual income because you focus more on other things, maybe build other parts of your business, but there's so many ways to do it. You don't just have to do it with training. So I'm excited to talk about it.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah. I think that's going to be really helpful for a lot of people. Maybe other moms like us who want to spend more time with their kids, who actually want to experience the baby moon. I mean-
Lexi Bowler:
Yes.
Sheila Bella:
Imagine if you have another baby now you'd probably be able to take more time off because you've created passive income. Right?
Lexi Bowler:
Oh yeah, for sure. I mean, I'm really excited for this pregnancy because of that. It's going to be so much different and I'm so grateful for that.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah. Oh my gosh. I'm excited for you. Okay, wow. Last question or second to last question before we wrap. What is your number one tip for how to live a pretty rich life? Rich meaning in that ... and in that word, not just financial, all encompassing. Rich relationally, spiritually, financially as well, all of it.
Lexi Bowler:
Honestly, the first thing that came to my mind, it's been on my mind a lot is being happy for people. Being happy for other people and their lives. I think that the reason why I feel that so much is because I truly believe it that if you're happy for other people and for their success or happy for their decisions, whether it's something different than you believe spiritually or something different that you believe with your word or just anything like that. I don't know. I just think that being happy for other people, it will in turn come back to you and others will be happy for you as well.
Sheila Bella:
That's such a beautiful, profound answer. I freaking love it. Yeah. And that's why-
Lexi Bowler:
I mean, not that profound. But that's how I feel lately.
Sheila Bella:
I think so.
Lexi Bowler:
I don't know. There's plenty of success for everybody to go around and you're not always going to agree with everybody. And I feel like that's just what I've been learning in my life lately is we're all different, but we all got to celebrate it.
Sheila Bella:
Lexi. I think it's really profound. You have no idea how many people don't naturally feel that way or don't work on feeling that way and what comes out of them is just sheer ugliness that makes them look really bad.
Lexi Bowler:
Yeah. No, it's true. It's true. I mean, yeah.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah. That's definitely something that I want my boys to grow up feeling, is the feeling of celebrating others and harnessing that. Yeah, life is easier if you are that way. And you'll actually be more successful if you are that way.
Lexi Bowler:
100%, 100%.
Sheila Bella:
