That's not an exaggeration. That's not a groundbreaking thing to say. It's just the truth. She's literally a master of microblading and she's teaching other microbladers her masterful skills and just building this empire of incredibly talented PMU artists. She's incredible and I'm so honored that she agreed to come on the podcast and share all of her secrets with us. (I'm kidding - Kler doesn't have secrets).
A lot of people will look at social media, look at Kler's online presence, and think "Oh well she has it made. Look at her, her life is just perfect, I bet she was born with all of this." Because we love to make assumptions about people. We love to believe that we can be little detectives and figure out an entire person's life just by looking at a couple of pictures they post online.
But Kler struggled for her success. She fought for it. She always believed in herself and she didn't let anything stop her from chasing her dream. She's an immigrant, like me, and she has that really fighting spirit that pushes us to achieve our goals despite all of the odds that are stacked up against us. She's really incredible. I know you're gonna love her and everything that she has to say in this episode. She tells us her life story, starting from when she was younger in Turkey, getting into the skincare and makeup industry, immigrating to the US, betrayal, miscommunication, losing her title, gaining her title, and building the empire she has now. It's incredible and it's only an hour long - so what are you waiting for? Let's go.
Here are the episode highlights:
‣‣ [14:15] Kler Rosenberg is a living legend in the beauty community. She's really massive - and she's earned it. But I want to know about Kler before all of this success. Who was she at her lowest point?
‣‣ [21:55] Kler came to the US with $3,000 to her name, her skin care experience, and nothing else, ready to build her empire.
‣‣ [26:24] Here Kler shares the story of getting her green card and staying in the States.
‣‣ [32:58] Now I want to know how Kler got involved in microblading after working in skincare for so long.
‣‣ [37:22] Let's talk about first husbands and the lessons they teach us.
‣‣ [43:30] This is the moment that changed Kler's entire life.
‣‣ [01:00:21] Kler has been in PMU and beauty industry for a long time. She's one of the OGs. And since our industry thrives online, where people can easily come up with ideas and stories about people that don't even know, Kler shares some of her history with being misunderstood by people.

Sheila Bella:
She turned $3,000 into millions, I'll say it for her, millions. She is world renowned 73 trainers internationally. Her name is Kler Rosenberg and she is also known as the Beauty Angels CEO, and to some people Branco Babic, you know PhiBrows, his arch nemesis. Today she's going to tell us everything, I'm so excited. Kler Rosenberg on today's Pretty Rich Podcast. Let's go.
Welcome to Pretty Rich Podcast, where you're totally the heroine of your own story. I'm your host Sheila Bella, and I built a seven figure PMU beauty biz and a seven figure online biz. Without a degree, without a fancy website, or a sugar daddy, and if you and I hang out on here long enough, you're going to start to believe that you can do it too. How about that for a side effect of listening to this podcast, because you really can.
I know you think I don't know you, I have no idea who you are, but I do. I really, really do because I am you, I was you and I believe we are all on the same journey together. My perfect job didn't exist, so I created it. The job I wanted wasn't hearing me, wanted nothing to do with me, so I skipped the line and hired myself as CEO. Just like you can, so consider me your secret beauty biz BFF in case you need to be reminded on a weekly basis that, power is never just handed to you, you have to take it. Are you ready beauty boss? Let's jump in.
Guys, this is a good one, this is a good one, especially if you are a PMU person. If you don't know who these characters are, I feel like I'm about to tell you a telenovela. I'm about to deliver a telenovela to you or a Netflix series. This is like the season finale.
If you're not in the permanent makeup world, this is still going to be very relatable. Just picture one of the most prominent figures in your industry have a mysterious falling out with somebody else who's one of the most prominent figures in the United States. And of course, everybody on Facebook is like, "Let's keep it professional. Let's keep it professional," but you know some stuff went down. You know what? I love that Kler is so comfortable with herself. She's so confident and so classy. Well, you know what class is? Honesty, that's what I think real class is, so I'm really excited to introduce her to you guys.
I mean, I met Kler in Miami at the IPCS conference, and I could tell that she was genuine. Yeah, I was drawn to her. She was magnetic, and I could tell that she wasn't wishing for your demise. You know sometimes you can just get that feeling from people, especially women you're like, "You secretly don't like me." No, she felt really sincere to me, because if you can't be happy for another woman's triumphs, at my age, 38 years old, at my age now we have very little in common at this point.
I remember feeling that way before, not being happy for other women because I felt threatened or I was fearful or I was acting out of scarcity. Like I felt like there wasn't enough for me, but the older you get, I'm I going to say the older you get? People who say the older you get are actually old, so I guess that means I'm actually old. It's really true. It's really, really true, so I distance myself and you should too. Emotionally and physically from people who can't be happy for you.
For the people who are threatened by your growth essentially, you should not make room for them in your life. There are so many other people you can make room for, so why make room for the people who aren't genuinely happy for you? It's hard to believe, hard to believe sometimes the people you love actually want you to stay down, because you're like, "No, you love me. No, you love me. You're happy for me, right?" It's so weird, so you're like, "Oh," and then you're confused. When in fact, if you just took off the blinders and accepted them for exactly who they are and exactly what that comment meant, you'd be like, "They're really not happy for me."
But you have your own story about who this person is, and now you have this cognitive dissonance. Your brain is arguing with your heart, et cetera, et cetera. So most of the time people don't even realize that your success threatens them, so they won't tell you outright, "Hey, I'm feeling insecure because you're unexpectedly doing so well." Like who is evolved enough to say that? No one, no one says that. Not even you. Not even me at the times I felt threatened by somebody else's success. I didn't say that.
Jealousy and insecurity, I have to say, they sound like this, okay? Statements like, "You've changed. I miss the old you." Or sometimes people will say, "Why do you always need to meet new people? You're becoming so fake." Sound familiar? Or they might say, "Why do you need so much attention? That's okay, but you're turning into a narcissist this much." So that's okay, that's okay but you're turning... Okay, or how about this one, "Your new designer bag is okay, but I'm just not a materialistic person, but it's nice. It's just not for me." Okay, or they'll tell you your dream is unrealistic, it's not practical. "You should stick to a smaller goal, stick to a smaller goal. Why? Why punish yourself?"
Listen, don't settle for less than you deserve because it's available. If you allow small minds to dictate your decisions, be prepared to never get to meet her, and by her I mean, your highest self. The one that's trapped inside of you right now. I love seeing women win. Why? Because they're radiant and full of hope, and it just shows us all that it's possible for us.
When some people out there bad mouth the new you, have compassion, try that angle, have compassion. Don't get mad, because they feel like they can't get access to the old you. They think your come up reminds them that they're still down. Remember, hurt people, hurt people, that's the only reason why they're trying to hurt you and they don't even realize it.
You are more fantastic now more than ever. You're braver, you're wiser, you're more resilient. You're happier. You're, well, more you. When you finally learn that the person's ugly behavior has more to do with their own internal struggle for self-acceptance than ever did with you, you get grace. You learn grace. You embody grace, and I know that this episode which was taken from an IG live, I know that this is a little focused on the salacious details of the PhiBrows and Beauty Angels split, right?
But honestly, you're going to hear a lot of healing that went on with Kler. You're going to hear a lot of positive things come out of her mouth. She's going to show you how to handle a fall out, with an old business partner like a boss. Classy with a K, so before we get to my guest for today, I wanted to remind you that, if you have not yet left a five star review on iTunes, I am giving away a free course, a completely free course in its entirety. Any course you want to take on sheilabella.com/programs, completely for free if you leave a five star review. I will be choosing one lucky winner at the end of this month.
Also, do you have any thoughts about what I just said about only keeping people in your life who are actually happy for you? Maybe you have someone in your life that's like not happy for you at all, but you have to see them all the time. Like if you have any feedback for me like that, or if you want to share with me what's going on in your life, know that I'm always here and I'm just a text message away.
I love hearing your thoughts about the rumblings of this podcast and about today's topic. All you need to do is text me at 310-388-4588. I love getting feedback. Again, that's 310-388-4588 and without further ado, here is Kler Rosenberg. Let's go.
What's up Instagram? How are you guys, Pretty Rich Podcast fam? All right, oh man, I really dressed up for Kler today. Kler you guys, you know why? Because, I care about this. I care about her. Guys, so I'm about to bring on Master Kler Rosenberg onto Pretty Rich Podcast. It's her first time here, so I want you guys to give her a lot of love.
Now Kler is one of those people that... Listen, I am so comfortable with her that I didn't even prepare for this or like barely prepared for this. She's one of the realest people in this industry. I just from the very beginning got an amazing feeling about her. What you see is what you get, and I think you guys are going to get that here. You guys are going to understand that now, so I know this episode is going to blow your mind.
The truth, that's what I'm titling this. Kler Rosenberg, my side of the story, the truth. Here we go. Let's see. It says connecting. Oh look at this girl. Hi.
Kler Rosenberg:
Hi, I don't see you though. Oh I see you now.
Sheila Bella:
Oh no.
Kler Rosenberg:
Wow, you really look amazing.
Sheila Bella:
Oh girl.
Kler Rosenberg:
I tried to get a blow dry appointment, but they couldn't fit me in.
Sheila Bella:
This is my disguise. Like if I ever go missing, you will never find me, because my disguise is so good.
Kler Rosenberg:
I love it. I love it. I need to learn how to put eyelashes on.
Sheila Bella:
Oh please. Oh my gosh, so I was just telling Instagram before you popped on that, I barely even prepared for this because I'm just so comfortable with you.
Kler Rosenberg:
Thank you.
Sheila Bella:
We're just hanging out. I've had the pleasure of getting to know you and now I'm really excited for everyone else to get to know you, because I think you're amazing. You're so magnetic. I'm like, "Yeah I'll spend more time with her, she's amazing." So, let's get to it.
Kler Rosenberg:
I'm nervous now, geez.
Sheila Bella:
Oh my gosh, stop. Stop. We have some friends, hey you guys, what's going on?
Kler Rosenberg:
Hi, everyone.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah, it's Kler's first time on Pretty Rich Podcast, but I know you guys want the tea, you want the juice.
Kler Rosenberg:
Yeah, she invited me because I'm pretty rich, that's why.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah.
Kler Rosenberg:
So pretty rich. I'm pretty.
Sheila Bella:
And rich.
Kler Rosenberg:
And rich.
Sheila Bella:
I don't want to get into the podcast name, but I love the term pretty rich because I love that it's misleading. I love that people think, "Oh you're going to talk about makeup and money and be like oh." I love the term rich because it means rich in so many areas.
Kler Rosenberg:
Areas, yes totally. Of course.
Sheila Bella:
Rich in relationally, spiritually. I mean your health is your greatest wealth to me, it's the greatest wealth to me. Yeah, like me, I'm misleading. Like, "Oh yeah, she's so shallow," and then I'm like drop some Gandhi on you. Drop some Gandhi. Okay, I am so excited to have you on today. Have you ever told your life story on any platform?
Kler Rosenberg:
I'm getting heart palpitations, because I haven't shared this. I swear to God, like where I came from, how I felt in life, I shared with very few people. So to share with all of you here...
Sheila Bella:
I'm really honored. Okay, so let's get to it. We know the Kler Rosenberg of today. Kler Rosenberg today is, to me you're a legendary. I mean, I knew about you even before I met you, and then after I met you I was like, "Oh my gosh, she's so real. Oh my gosh." I was just drawn to you. Anyway, enough about...
Kler Rosenberg:
Thank you.
Sheila Bella:
No, I just say it like it is. Yeah, so we know that Kler Rosenberg of today, you have 73 trainers, 73 trainers. You're an international name. I think the name that people really know is Kler. It's Kler Rosenberg, it's not just Beauty Angels. It's not just PhiBrows or any other organization that you create and you touch it and it turns to gold.
Kler Rosenberg:
Now I believe it, but for a long time I didn't believe it. I'll tell you all about that.
Sheila Bella:
Oh okay, so we know the Kler Rosenberg of today, so take us back to Kler Rosenberg 10 years ago or at the lowest point of your PMU life. What was that?
Kler Rosenberg:
Oh my God. Okay.
Sheila Bella:
You want to go to the beginning? You want to go to the beginning? How'd you get here? Were you born out of your mama's vagina and you were like, "I'm going to be a permanent makeup artist," or like how did this happen?
Kler Rosenberg:
Okay, all right, I'll tell you a little about myself. I was born in Turkey, and I left Turkey when I was 17 years old. I'm going to fast forward because there's a lot of things that happened, but...
Sheila Bella:
We have an hour, we have an hour, let's go.
Kler Rosenberg:
Okay, so I went to skin care school. I had very bad acne and that's why I still have some scars like this. When I went to skin care school, I have this client of mine who said, "You're amazing. People love you. Let's open a beauty salon," and I had zero money and I was very young.
I never forget, me and my mum went to her house and she said, "We're going to be 50-50 partners," and I'm like, "Oh my God. They're so nice to me." Meanwhile, at 17 I rented a space like apartment space to open up this beauty salon. I found the name, it was called [foreign language 00:15:48] in French it means like a face. I did the logo. I did everything Sheila, like everything. I got the machines. I got this and I got a crew of people from my high school. I went to high school for beautician, to be a skin care specialist.
Here we are, in the first day we're going to have a training. This guy is going to come to train us for the machines that we bought, like cellulite and this and lifting and blah, blah, blah. She starts treating me, you know how I talk, like shit. Like shit, and I'm like, you know me, I have such a... It's not called ego, what is that? Pride, pride. I have zero ego but I have very...
Sheila Bella:
Yeah, self-respect. Self-respect.
Kler Rosenberg:
I have super high pride, so she tells me, "Bring me tea. Bring me coffee honey. Bring me this," and I'm like, "Oh my God, this is not going to happen." I told my customers that I'm going to own this place, and meanwhile, she's treating me horribly. So I go to her and I'm like, "Why are you treating me like this in front of this people? Why?" She goes, "Honey, you're young and you're going to go through this. There is a bumpy road that you're going to go through to get where you want to be, and that's how it is." This is in Turkey.
Meanwhile, the first year in high school, we went and we did old theory and then the second and the third year, I was going to a beauty salon. In my time like back then, they didn't even have washing machines, so I was washing sheets by hand.
Sheila Bella:
In my time, don't say that.
Kler Rosenberg:
Cleaning, doing all this stuff, so I said to her, "You know what bitch?" I said, "I don't think so. I'm out of here." Then I came home and my mom was about to kill me. My mom said, "What are you doing? This was an amazing opportunity for you and you blew it." I said, "Mother, I'm going to do good things. Trust me." I said, "I'm going to do big things," but meanwhile, all my life I felt a little bit stupid because I was never good at school. I was never good at school. I was never good at math. I was never good like in those kind of subjects, but I was very good with languages. I speak three languages.
Sheila Bella:
What are the languages you speak?
Kler Rosenberg:
I speak Turkish, Spanish, and English.
Sheila Bella:
Oh my gosh.
Kler Rosenberg:
Yeah, so I was good with languages, but I was never good with math. I never forget, my grandma would say, "What is seven times eight?" To this day, to this day-
Sheila Bella:
I got to look it up.
Kler Rosenberg:
... it's like I'm a dumb ass. I don't know what it is. I'm like, "Oh my God. Oh my God," and I felt, seriously Sheila, I felt like I was no good for anything. Then when this happened, and then my mom was telling me, "What did you do? You didn't go to college, you have this opportunity and you blew it." I'm thinking, "Oh my God, I blew it. I blew it. I had it." She was a big name in Turkey, like a high society. She was always on the magazines, on TV.
Sheila Bella:
But you had to get her coffee. But you had to get her coffee.
Kler Rosenberg:
I would get you coffee, I would get anybody coffee.
Sheila Bella:
Of course.
Kler Rosenberg:
It was the way that she was asking for her coffee, Sheila. It was the way she was asking for coffee.
Sheila Bella:
Listen, you were....
Kler Rosenberg:
"Get me the damn coffee, make me some Turkey coffee."
Sheila Bella:
50-50 partner yeah, of course.
Kler Rosenberg:
But you know what, I was stupid. I never signed anything and I literally walked away.
Sheila Bella:
Well she's not that smart.
Kler Rosenberg:
I walked away.
Sheila Bella:
Well you were 19 at this point.
Kler Rosenberg:
No, 17. I was 17, and then I said, "I want to get out of this country. I don't want to stay here. I don't want to see her succeed. It's going to make me feel so bad that that was supposed to be my business."
Sheila Bella:
How long were you there?
Kler Rosenberg:
I wasn't, we never even opened the salon. I built the salon for her.
Sheila Bella:
Oh no. Okay.
Kler Rosenberg:
It was the first day. It was the first day, we didn't even take customers yet.
Sheila Bella:
Wow, oh my gosh.
Kler Rosenberg:
Then I said, "I'm leaving, I'm going to learn English." I loved English. I loved it all the time, always. I said, "I'm going to learn English." I went to England as an au pair. Do you know what that is?
Sheila Bella:
Yes, a nanny.
Kler Rosenberg:
Yes, so I was an au pair and it was crazy. This woman was crazy. Anyway, it's a long story, but she kicked me out of her house because I ate leftovers. She says, "No, you were supposed to eat what I tell you." I was like, "Oh my God, oh my God." I know, that's right, so she puts me at the door and she says, "You're out of here." I said, "Okay, I could do this," and I found a place. A Turkish place, a restaurant and I started working there waiting tables.
Then all of a sudden the wife says to me, "Wait a minute, you were an aesthetician?" I said, "Yeah, I'm an aesthetician." She says, "I'm going to help you. Why are you going to wait tables here? You could do skin care." I said, "Okay." She got me a job at a beauty salon, but I couldn't survive because I didn't have papers. They barely paid me. It was just crazy and then I didn't have enough food to eat. It was actually really sad. It's true, I didn't even have enough food to eat.
Sheila Bella:
You were alone?
Kler Rosenberg:
I didn't even have money to buy food.
Sheila Bella:
You were alone waiting tables?
Kler Rosenberg:
I was crying to my mother, my mother would send me a box of cookies and this, that. I said, "I'm going back home." I went back home and one year I worked my ass off. I was massaging. I was doing little facial stuff in people's houses, and I saved about $3,000 and Glenn... You know who's Glen?
Sheila Bella:
Yeah.
Kler Rosenberg:
Okay. He always made fun of me.
Sheila Bella:
Your brother-in-law?
Kler Rosenberg:
Yes.
Sheila Bella:
Okay.
Kler Rosenberg:
Yes, and he always made fun of me. He says, "Kler and the $3,000 that she had." I came to the US with $3,000 in my pocket.
Sheila Bella:
By yourself?
Kler Rosenberg:
By myself, I didn't know anybody.
Sheila Bella:
What?
Kler Rosenberg:
I didn't know anyone.
Sheila Bella:
Where did you land?
Kler Rosenberg:
I actually landed in New York, that's where I landed, and I was there three days for orientation.
Sheila Bella:
Did you pick a city when you... How old were you now? Hold on, this is amazing.
Kler Rosenberg:
At this time I was 19.
Sheila Bella:
Holy moly, you're 19 years old, you saved $3,000 and you're like, "I'm moving to America." What year was this?
Kler Rosenberg:
Oh my God, long ass time ago. That's all I could tell you.
Sheila Bella:
Okay, long ass time ago, so 19 forgotten.
Kler Rosenberg:
I have bad math remember.
Sheila Bella:
Oh that's right. I know.
Kler Rosenberg:
Hold on.
Sheila Bella:
Who was president?
Kler Rosenberg:
I'm going to do it with my fingers, hold on. Okay, wait, I was 19 and I'm 47, so that's how many years ago. You do the math.
Sheila Bella:
I'd use my phone, but I'm on my phone. Okay, so yeah. My husband's not here, he does math for me, oh well. Okay, so that long ago.
Kler Rosenberg:
Sheila Bella:
Kler Rosenberg:
It's going to be 28 years in December, 28.
Sheila Bella:
The '90s, I came here in the '90s too. Nice.
Kler Rosenberg:
I think Bill Clinton was the president.
Sheila Bella:
Oh okay, yeah.
Kler Rosenberg:
No, no, no, before, it was the one before Bill Clinton.
Sheila Bella:
Okay, Bush, Bush was president.
Kler Rosenberg:
It was Bush. It was.
Sheila Bella:
Thank you Danielle 1992.
Kler Rosenberg:
The father.
Sheila Bella:
1992.
Kler Rosenberg:
The father.
Sheila Bella:
The father.
Kler Rosenberg:
Not George Bush, the other Bush.
Sheila Bella:
Okay, 1992.
Kler Rosenberg:
There you go.
Sheila Bella:
I came here in 1990, so yeah. Okay, so how [crosstalk 00:24:22].
Kler Rosenberg:
How is your English with no accent?
Sheila Bella:
I don't know. I have an ear. I have an ear, my voice talent.
Kler Rosenberg:
Wait a minute, you're younger than me, that's why. How old were you when you came here?
Sheila Bella:
I was nine years old.
Kler Rosenberg:
Okay, that's why. Hello, when you come...
Sheila Bella:
It's not just talent, it's not. You are not good talented.
Kler Rosenberg:
Okay, so after this-
Sheila Bella:
Wait, how did you pick a city?
Kler Rosenberg:
... I went to Arizona. This is where I went.
Sheila Bella:
Wait, why did you pick New York and why did you pick Arizona?
Kler Rosenberg:
I didn't. What happened is, the au pair agency, that's where who picks you. Okay, it's like an agency. They put your name with a picture, I was like nice like this, and then they picked me.
Sheila Bella:
I see. Okay, the au pair agency.
Kler Rosenberg:
Then the lady had one daughter, four years old. I was not tough enough for her. She was like, "You're no good. You're no good, no good." She was very nice, very nice lady really. It was in Paradise Valley, beautiful place. I still want to move there actually, it's funny.
Sheila Bella:
Oh Paradise Valley, my friends are there right now.
Kler Rosenberg:
Paradise Valley.
Sheila Bella:
In Arizona.
Kler Rosenberg:
Yes, in Arizona.
Sheila Bella:
Oh how funny.
Kler Rosenberg:
So then I went to Seattle, and I was there for about maybe three weeks and I did not like it there. It was just not for me, too dreary. Then I found a family, a new au pair family in Boston.
Sheila Bella:
Wow.
Kler Rosenberg:
In [crosstalk 00:26:06] Massachusets, and I was in Massachusets for about almost 10 years. I lived in Boston, and I was actually voted Boston's Best Aesthetician.
Sheila Bella:
Nice, so you were an au pair while you were an aesthetician, or you were just an aesthetician?
Kler Rosenberg:
No, I was an au pair. I was just an au pair and I never forget this day, Sheila. In the times, we didn't have internet, we didn't have all this. My very good friend, who I'm still friends with Sybil, I hope she's watching. She's not watching, it's too late in Turkey, but anyway, I love her.
We met and then she said to me, "My cousin sent me a article from the newspaper. The US government does lottery like for a Green Card." I said, "Really? A Green Card lottery?" I said, "I want to stay in this country. Hell yeah, I want to stay in this country. I don't want to go back." Then, we applied. Kler won the Green Card [crosstalk 00:27:15].
Sheila Bella:
Oh my gosh, you lucky, lucky bitch.
Kler Rosenberg:
Yeah, I know. You know what is the funniest thing? So listen to this.
Sheila Bella:
What?
Kler Rosenberg:
This is the funniest thing. There was two kids that I was taking care of. One of them was, he was a five-year-old, a little boy who is a big man now, Garret and then there was Joselyn, who was 10 years old. I got this letter in the mail and I started freaking going crazy. "Oh my God. Oh my God. I won the lottery. I won the lottery."
Sheila Bella:
Yeah.
Kler Rosenberg:
The first thing that Joselyn says, "How much? Oh my God, how much?" I said, "No, no, no, no, no, it's not money," but I say, "I wouldn't even want the money. I'm going to make the money." I said, "I won the Green Card, so Garret goes, "Kler, you won a green car?" It was the funniest thing, he thought I won a green car, car.
Sheila Bella:
Oh a green car.
Kler Rosenberg:
Yeah, I said, "No, no, I didn't win a green car. I won the Green Card, it means that I could stay with you guys." Then I started going to a beauty school, but I didn't know that I could really get my beauty license here. Then I met this guy, Charles Maksou, a Lebanese guy in a show, in one of those beauty shows. He was cutting hair like this and throwing it out and putting a show. He says, "You, what do you do?" I said, "Oh I'm in a school," and he goes, "Where are you from? You have an accent." I said, "I'm from Turkey." He goes, "Oh you're my neighbor," and then he says, "I'm going to help you. You want job?" I said, "Yeah, I want job," and he goes, "Okay, I'm going to give you a job."
Before that what happened is, the family that I was with, they had all these restrictions for me, a curfew and the this, the that. It was very, very hard, and when I went to my interview, I never forget this, Sheila. It's like engraved in my head. I was in my interview for my Green Card, I was a little girl. I was 19 years old. I was 20 at the time, sorry. At that point I was 20 years old.
The lady goes to me, "Do you have family?" I said, "Yeah, I do." I said, "I have my mom, I'm the only child." I said, "I have a question, do I have to work with this family all the time?" I was so naïve, I had no idea. You know what she said to me? I still want to cry, she says, "I'm giving you the opportunity to stay, to work and make a better life in the United States of America."
This is what she said to me, and I was like, "Oh my God. Oh my God." It was so crazy for me and I said to her, "I don't have to work with them. I could get another job. I could do this," and she was such a nice lady. I know she says to me, "Dear," she goes, "I'm giving you the permission to stay five years. Five years, you bring your family here," and guess what?
Sheila Bella:
Oh my gosh.
Kler Rosenberg:
She was the nicest and then five years later, I brought my mom here. I made the American dream come true. This is a land of opportunity. Don't feel sorry for yourself, just pick up and do something about yourself. I had nothing. I had nothing.
My first car was like a Toyota Corolla, and I was like, "Oh my God, I have a car." Nobody in my family ever had a car or an apartment or a house. We always rented and we didn't have any car or anything. It was hard. It was not easy times. I remember my grandmother saying, "Okay, we're going to eat red meat." It was expensive, it's true. It's the truth. Yeah.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah. Okay, gosh. You guys these comments, everyone's feeling this story. Thank you so much for sharing that. It's very relatable to me. For you guys who know my story, you know why. That's incredible, Kler.
Hey PMU friends, listen, I don't talk about or promote anything on here that I don't believe in or use myself. Right now I got to say, my favorite place to shop for quality PMU and beauty supplies is HYVE Beauty. They have the best selection and my favorite part about shopping at HYVEbeauty.com is getting the package.
It feels so personal, it always makes me so happy opening up a HYVE package from the mail, because it feels like I'm getting a package from a friend. I don't know how they do it or make people feel this way, but they manage to do it with thousands of happy customers all over the US and Canada, and I'm definitely one of them. You should really go check it out so you know what I'm talking about.
If you want to save 15% off store wide, guess what, today's your lucky day. Just type in the code Sheila15 and get 15% off store wide. Check out HYVEbeauty.com. Link is in the show notes.
So what happened? When did you discover microblading? What happened after that?
Kler Rosenberg:
Okay, so let me tell you what happened. Remember the guy, Charles Maksou?
Sheila Bella:
Yeah.
Kler Rosenberg:
Okay, I used to work for this guy and then I said, "I don't want to do nails anymore. Please, I don't want to do nails. I don't want to do massages." I got harassed by men, they were disgusting stuff. I said, "Please," and he would not listen to me. I said, "You know what Charles?" I said, "I'm going to leave. I'm leaving."
I left and I went to a salon that just did skin care. Maybe a year and a half, two years went by, he calls me. He says, "Kler," and meanwhile, I started making some money. I mean I didn't have a lot of money, but little money. I was renting a home in a basement in this family's house and I couldn't afford to rent an apartment, but I was able to rent a room.
Then, all of a sudden he calls me, he says, "Listen, I'm opening a big, big, beautiful salon in downtown district in the Boston, in the financial district. I want you to come and be partners with me in the spa." I go, "Charles, I don't have money." I said, "You know me." I said, "I'm just trying to make little bit." I mean I had money, I had a car, I had a nicer car. This time I had a Honda Prelude and you know what he says to me, he says, "Kler, I don't want money from you." He says, "I've had so many hairstylists, so many people left my salon." He goes, "I never lost so many customers. I don't know what it is with you. People just love you."
Sheila Bella:
Yeah.
Kler Rosenberg:
He goes, "I just lost my customers, you need to come back." I said, "Okay, fine." Then I said, "But I don't have money." He says, "I don't want money from you." He goes, "You get 50%, no 60%, I get 40%, but only in the spa, but you got to train these people to work there with me." I said, "Deal, fine. When can we make this contract Charles? When can we make this contract?"
Sheila Bella:
You learned from the first time.
Kler Rosenberg:
He never God damn did it, and I didn't learn.
Sheila Bella:
Oh you didn't learn?
Kler Rosenberg:
Yes, I got screwed the second time.
Sheila Bella:
Oh no.
Kler Rosenberg:
I got screwed the second God damn time. You know what happened?
Sheila Bella:
What happened?
Kler Rosenberg:
One day, I was making a lot of money, a lot, but I didn't realize I never questioned anything. I was just making a big paycheck, I don't know, like $6,000 every two weeks. $7,000, then it was a lot of money, Sheila. It was like a lot of money and plus my tips, so I never said, "Oh, I'm I making the right amount or whatever?" I trust people so much, that's my stupid part.
One day I got a phone call. It was a very good client of mine, and I had a fiance here in Boca, in Florida. Says, "Kler, I'm trying to make an appointment with you, they told me that you no longer work there."
Sheila Bella:
Oh my gosh.
Kler Rosenberg:
I said, "What?" I said, "What are you talking about?"
Sheila Bella:
Oh no.
Kler Rosenberg:
I called my boss or my partner, or whatever you call him, and the wife sorry. Then the wife goes, "So my wedding was cheesy, so my wedding was this, my wedding was that." I was like, "Oh my God."
Sheila Bella:
Uh-oh.
Kler Rosenberg:
I know. I know and I said, "I'm really sorry, I cannot lie." I said, "I did say this." I'm not a liar. I'm not a liar. I tell the truth.
Sheila Bella:
That's what I love about you.
Kler Rosenberg:
I said, "I'm sorry I said this, but the bitch that told you this also said this so you know," and that's how I lost my job. Then, I came to Florida and I got married and then I...
Sheila Bella:
Wait, real quick, okay, you got married. How did you meet Scott?
Kler Rosenberg:
Scott is my second husband.
Sheila Bella:
Okay.
Kler Rosenberg:
But I met Scott online.
Sheila Bella:
Okay, I met my second husband online too.
Kler Rosenberg:
I was with my first husband only very short time, like a year.
Sheila Bella:
I see.
Kler Rosenberg:
Not even a year and a half, it doesn't even count.
Sheila Bella:
I know, me neither.
Kler Rosenberg:
It doesn't count, but what happened is, it was really interesting because if it wasn't for him, that's why I truly believe things happen in life always for a reason. When I moved here, I had no one. I didn't know anybody, not even one person. I went one by one to each and every customer in that salon. I said, "Hi, I'm Kler. I just moved here from Boston, can I do your eyebrows for free?" I said, "I was voted Boston's best," and I started getting clients. In one year I was fully booked, and then the guy says to me, "I'm not going to rent to you," that's when it started the booth rentals, like studio salons?
Sheila Bella:
Yeah.
Kler Rosenberg:
It started in Florida in this salon that I went to. It was called the Parthenon Salon, so I said, "If you don't want to rent me here, then I'm going to go." Then I went and I got my own room, and I started my own business. I had this client, her name is Nadia Rabbani, which I lost touch, lovely girl. She kept saying to me, "Kler, you are amazing at doing eyebrows. Why don't you do permanent eyebrows?" I said, "That's funny."
Kler Rosenberg:
When I was in Turkey, I saw this woman who got this eyeliner done and the lips in Asia some place, so long ago. I'm a dinosaur, I feel like a dinosaur.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah, in the '90s.
Kler Rosenberg:
But a really, really long time ago, and then I say, "It would be so amazing if I could put permanent eyebrows in a woman." I said, "Okay Nadia, I'm going to go and I'm going to learn this." This is how I went. It was almost 18 years ago since I'm doing eyebrow permanent makeup.
Sheila Bella:
Wow.
Kler Rosenberg:
Then what happened is, years and years later I mean fast forward, I opened a salon. I opened Brow and Beauty Bar, my salon now that I barely I'm there. In this time this girl came in, so check this out. I had a sign, I'm away, please call me or text me. I get a text from this girl, her name is Natalie. She says, "Hi, I just moved from LA to Florida and I do this eyebrow stuff." She sends me before, after pictures, I'm like, "Holy shit, what is this?" She goes, "This is permanent makeup." I'm like, "Hell no, this is not permanent makeup. This is beautiful." I said, "This is absolutely beautiful." She goes, "Well, this is with the machine, I do it with the machine." She goes, "Are you looking to hire anybody?"
I said, "Listen, I don't hire people," I said, "I just rent my rooms here if you're interested." She says, "I don't have the money to rent," and I'm like thinking, "Okay." I said, "I'm going to make an exception for you. I'm going to hire you." Sheila, in two days I gave her so many customers, like so many.
Sheila Bella:
Of course.
Kler Rosenberg:
She's like, "Can I rent? Can I rent?" I'm like, "Of course, you could rent." I said, "Look, I'm not greedy person, I share." I said, "You no problem." She didn't have a tattoo license, she didn't have insurance and I was like, "Listen to me, you need to get all this. You cannot work in my shop without the proper licensing and proper stuff."
Three weeks went by, something like this, like a very short time, and I said, "Listen Natalie, if you don't bring this, you're out of here." I said, "No exception, you're going to go." She left, and then I'm calling her, texting her, "No, no, no, come back [inaudible 00:41:49]." I'm like, "Oh shit man, now what?" But in the meantime it was interesting because nothing that she did stayed.
For her to make it look realistic, she was very, very superficial on the epidermis, so all the strokes would disappear and then she would shade it. I'm like, I don't know about that. Then a lot of my customers said, "Kler, come on. You're Kler. You went to all this tough road in your life, are you kidding me? You're going to go try to hire somebody to do this? Why don't you do it?" I go, "Okay, I could do it."
I drove eight hours North of Florida and I tell you it was the worst, worst, worst thing ever in my life that I experienced, scary. Then I'm like, "Oh my God, I got to do something about this. I got to learn this. I got to learn this." Then I find this girl, InstaBrows who is in [inaudible 00:42:59] Florida, so go there. I drive there and I take a class with her.
In the meantime, I'm searching and searching, searching and I find PhiBrows. Not PhiBrows, Branco Babic. I'm like, "Who is this guy? Let me look him up."
Sheila Bella:
What year was that?
Kler Rosenberg:
Oh my God.
Sheila Bella:
Around, around what?
Kler Rosenberg:
Maybe I would say six years ago, something like that.
Sheila Bella:
Wow, okay.
Kler Rosenberg:
I find him and I go to Esther and meanwhile, I screwed up my nanny's brows and she's going to freaking remove them. I'm like, "Holy shit, I got to learn this. This is not good. I'm going to ruin people's faces." I go, "Okay, Esther, do you know who is this guy Branco, Branco Babic?" "Oh yeah, he's very good." She goes, "I learned from David Brow Art, but he's also very big. Branco is very big, but in Europe." I said, "No, no, no," I said, "He's coming here to Miami, should I take the class or you think I'm okay with just you?"
She says to me and I want to thank her from the bottom of my heart. She says to me, "Kler, do you have the money?" I said, "Yes, I have the money," because I was making good money because I was doing facials and all my stuff." I said, "Yeah, I have the money, I could afford it." She goes, "If you can afford it, why not? Go. Go learn from as many people as you can." I call, I cannot get in, so I said, "Okay." Two days before the course, I get a phone call from the organizer.
Sheila Bella:
Oh my gosh.
Kler Rosenberg:
And says, "Listen, one girl couldn't get a visa or couldn't get in from Brazil. Do you want to take this spot?" I'm thinking, "Oh man, I don't know." I have a full book, that's like $2,000. It a two-day course and I got to get a room in Miami, because I live about one hour from Miami. I'm thinking, "I don't know, maybe I'll skip this." She goes, "Listen, next time he's going to come, the course is going to be more expensive because he's coming out with this new tool," and blah, blah, blah.
Sheila Bella:
Sales is a favor, I'm sorry. Sales is a favor. Thank God she sold you on that. Changed your life, go ahead.
Kler Rosenberg:
Let me tell you why it changed my life. It changed my life because, when I went there I had no idea. Here I am I'm talking to him, "I'm from Turkey, oh you're from Serbia, okay, great." He tells me his story and we bonded. Then, he was never able to come back to United States, somebody...
Sheila Bella:
I heard about that. Why? Why? I never knew why.
Kler Rosenberg:
He didn't have the right... I don't remember. I don't know. I don't know the whole story.
Sheila Bella:
Something about a visa or something like that.
Kler Rosenberg:
Something about the visa or whatever, yeah. Something like this.
Sheila Bella:
Okay.
Kler Rosenberg:
Then he never came back, and almost a year went by. Here I am working, doing eyebrows. I think, "Oh I'm so much better now, okay." I see that there's going to be a masterclass. I tell Scott, "Scott, I'm going to Serbia." Scott goes, "Where the hell are you going?" I said, "I'm going to Serbia." He goes, "Are you out of your mind? Is it even safe there?" I said it's safe.
I go, I see him. I'm like, "Hi," I said, "How are you?" He says, "I remember you." I'm feeling all like, "Oh my God, oh my God, he remembers me." He goes, "Las Vegas." I said, "Close. Miami." "Yes, yes, the Turkish girl, I remember you." I see these girls walking around.
Sheila Bella:
This is a movie.
Kler Rosenberg:
They're called master. I said, "I want to be a master. I want to have certificate." I said, "That sounds good. My customers will love me, it's going to say master." I said, "Okay, I like that." I go to the Turkish girl, I said, "[inaudible 00:47:24], how do I become a master?" I said, "I want to be a master." I said, "What does that even mean?" "Oh we're going to start teaching the PhiBrows." It was not called PhiBrows at the time, his technique, Japanese technique.
I said, "I don't know if I could teach anything." I said, "I never taught anything in my life," but I said, "I want that title master." I said, "I like that." She goes, "We have this forum. You should post your pictures there, and then this is how I became master." I said, "Oh okay." I go, "That's what I'm going to do." I started putting my stuff and boom, he starts commenting to my stuff. "Dear, I love your work, wow, you're amazing."
One day I get this message, "I would love to have you part of my team." I'm thinking, "What does that mean?" I go, "Scott, what does that mean?" He goes, "It means that he wants to work with you." I'm like, "Oh my God. Oh my God. What? What?" I became the first master and number 30 in the world, the first one in the US and all American continent I was. I was like, "I can't believe this. I can't believe this."
Then I got this girl, who she's watching maybe, her name is Joy, who I dearly love. I said to her, "Joy, you need to come work with me." I said, "I'm going to be famous. I'm going to get big." Then, that's how the whole thing started, and then we started teaching and teaching. I had more than 3,000 students with PhiBrows. After the owner, Branco, I was the second person in the whole world to have the most students. Then I opened a academy, the first official academy, the second on in the world. Yeah, so it was like a dream come true. It was a dream come true. Then I figured something, you know what?
Sheila Bella:
What happened?
Kler Rosenberg:
I figured out something that I never knew.
Sheila Bella:
What did you figure out?
Kler Rosenberg:
I love teaching and sharing my knowledge.
Sheila Bella:
Oh you do, you do.
Kler Rosenberg:
This is my passion, I love it.
Sheila Bella:
You're such a natural too. Okay, oh my gosh. Hi Shea.
I have come to realize that I have done a very poor job of reminding everybody why the heck I have so much time to create content. Why do I have time to podcast? How do I have time to create so many reels? How do I have all this time to create inspiring posts, online courses, vacation with family, even et cetera, et cetera?
I know you guys know that I'm a permanent makeup artist, but what you may not know is that the reason why I have all this time to pursue the things that I'm truly passionate about, is because I've scaled my business. I've scaled my business to create two to $300,000 months in revenue. I did it all through me not even having to be there.
I have a permanent makeup studio that now employs seven full-time artists. I used to have 14 and now I have seven, and the seven that I have been with me for five years or more. How, how did I do this? You see, this type of financial freedom is what is available to you through the art and craft of permanent makeup. If you're a solo business owner and you're looking to scale your business just like I did, and perhaps stop the ground hog day experience of going in and out, doing brow after brow, after brow. And you're looking to create jobs and opportunities for those who are deserving or perhaps those that you love, this is exactly the model that we coach people through in our Pretty Rich Bosses mentorship program.
Whether you're a veteran or just starting out in the industry, if this is something you crave, why don't you pick up the phone and text me for a complementary strategy call. On this free 60 minute strategy call, we'll use it to clarify what it is that you still haven't done in your business in order to get you to where you want to be. All you have to do is text the word FREE CALL to area code (310)-388-4588. Text the word FREE CALL to (310)-388-4588 and I'll talk to you soon.
Okay, I want to know now, so you got your starts in permanent makeup or a big start rather with PhiBrows and Branco. I want to know, when did you realize that it was time to break away? What happened?
Kler Rosenberg:
What happened? Very good question.
Sheila Bella:
Because right now you...
Kler Rosenberg:
It's like a very hot spot because...
Sheila Bella:
People who don't know, you're Beauty Angels. Now you're Beauty Angels, so yeah. For people who don't know.
Kler Rosenberg:
Yeah, so what happened was, there was unfortunately a very big misunderstanding between me and the academy. I lost my title.
Sheila Bella:
How long were you with the academy?
Kler Rosenberg:
It was about two years, two years.
Sheila Bella:
Okay.
Kler Rosenberg:
It was two years and I was so in love. I loved everything about it and I still do. It's an amazing academy. It's amazing products and I had the biggest web shop, the biggest. The most successful after the PhiShop that they had in Austria. Everything was so good.
It's like you find this amazing, good looking husband and you're so happy. Then you start having your kids, which I had my trainers under me. I had four trainers under me and I'm thinking, "Oh my God, I got the world by the balls." That's how I was thinking. Then all of a sudden and I'm like, "Holy shit, did I just lose my title for like, sorry, but fucking misunderstanding?"
Sheila Bella:
Why did you lose your title? Just a misunderstanding?
Kler Rosenberg:
It was just a misunderstanding, that I did something wrong but I had no idea that I was doing something wrong. I had no idea.
Sheila Bella:
But why do you think you weren't forgiven for it? Was it loss of trust?
Kler Rosenberg:
No, no, no.
Sheila Bella:
Why do you think [inaudible 00:53:57]?
Kler Rosenberg:
I was forgiven, I actually flew to...
Sheila Bella:
Oh that's right.
Kler Rosenberg:
I was forgiven. I flew to Serbia for one night to have a talk with Branco, the owner, and I said, "Look, I love PhiBrows. I'm your biggest trainer. Like why? It's just a misunderstanding." He was like, "Fine," but it was really never fine in my heart. It's like you have a husband, I told you, you have a great, good looking husband and one day you catch the guy in bed with another woman. "Oh no, I was just reading the book. We were not doing anything."
Sheila Bella:
Basically...
Kler Rosenberg:
The trust was broken. The trust...
Sheila Bella:
That's very understandable, so were you like, "uh-oh, you mean you can just drop me like that?"
Kler Rosenberg:
That's what it was. I just felt not secure anymore in my position. I said, "I'm the biggest trainer," and do you want me to tell you in one year how much money I made?
Sheila Bella:
Yes, I do.
Kler Rosenberg:
It's too personal, it doesn't matter. It was over a million dollars, that's all I have to say.
Sheila Bella:
This is the Pretty Rich Podcast.
Kler Rosenberg:
Okay, all right. In one year, I bought products and kits over like $1.2 million, so I was like, "How could you do that to me? This is crazy. It's just a misunderstanding and I'm really sorry. I'm not a bad person. It was just a misunderstanding." He also apologized, he was very nice. He said, "No problem, it will be a great loss to lose you as the academy." Then I just felt like, "Oh my God, can he do that to me again, take my title away?"
Sheila Bella:
Yeah.
Kler Rosenberg:
I never forget, Sheila. I was flying to Washington, DC and no joke, I was crying in the plane like this, and everybody was looking at me like, "What the fuck is wrong with this woman?" I was just crushed, distraught. It's almost like God forbid but somebody died, that's how I felt.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah.
Kler Rosenberg:
Then Glenn is telling me, "Kler, don't worry about it. We could just make a new academy." I'm like, "No." I said, "Glenn, you don't understand, I love PhiBrows, I love. I don't want any other academy. I don't want another. I would be nothing. I don't want to do that." Then my greatest, greatest friend and like a sister to me, I love you Patricia if you're watching this. Patricia Peranio and Ramsey Sevilla, who they're like my family and I was in Mexico. I was teaching removal, PhiRemoval, I was a PhiRemoval master also.
I said, "I'm so sad," and they said, "Kler, let's just leave. Let's just leave. It's time for us to leave." I said, "No, no," and my husband is like, "No, no." Ramsey is like, "Yes." I'm like, "No, we can't do this. We can't." I said, "I'm so loyal, I love and this is my first love, I can't do it." Scott is telling me, "Guys, we have a great business, come on. [crossalk 00:57:21]."
Sheila Bella:
Yes, Scott.
Kler Rosenberg:
"Are you kidding me? We're making shit ton of money guys, stop it." I'm was like, "I could do this. I got to do this for me, for the security." Honestly, if it wasn't for Patricia and Ramsey, I would have not been here. If it was not for Branco, I would not be here.
Sheila Bella:
Yes.
Kler Rosenberg:
He helped me to get here.
Sheila Bella:
I love it.
Kler Rosenberg:
But I also helped, which is I said that, I helped PhiBrows to get to the United States and in the world to where it is.
Sheila Bella:
Of course.
Kler Rosenberg:
I trained 3,000 students. I'm not a backstabber, I want to clear everything here for people who was like... Some of my students was like very disappointed in me. "What? What do you mean?" Guys, you know what, it's life, it happens. I didn't want to abandon them, and I respect their decision. They didn't want me to go with the students, so they assigned my students to different trainers, and that's fine but it was ugly. It was not a good split, and I told my students, "Your mommy and daddy got a divorce, and now your daddy's going to give you a new mommy."
Then I said, "You'll get both, you'll get Beauty Angels and you'll get PhiBrows." I said, "Why not?" I said, "Get certified in both, are you kidding me?" To have two certifications on their wall, and a lot of people did it. A lot of people did it.
Sheila Bella:
I love it.
Kler Rosenberg:
I always, always am very thankful. Honestly, maybe that was my push to go, I needed that. Like God gave me this and I always believe to be good to people. I always believe it's in our kit. It's in our kit, it says, "The more you give, the more you receive."
I had students fly to me from all over the world. From Vietnam, from Australia, from Europe, from Saudi Arabia. I mean all kind of places, and the people said, "Kler, you share everything. You don't keep secrets." I said, "Why should I keep secrets?"
Sheila Bella:
You can tell.
Kler Rosenberg:
We all get who we are. We all get what is meant for us, so you were asking me, you said, "Oh I'm going to ask you this question. What would you say to your kids," or something like this, right? You said.
Sheila Bella:
Oh my next question for you is, so I remember when all of this went down, it was a few years ago. I remember there was a post and then another post. Our industry very, very much lives on social media. We live there, so my question for you is this. In what ways did you feel misunderstood by people?
Kler Rosenberg:
The biggest misunderstanding was with Branco obviously, but besides Branco, I think I was misunderstood by some of my students. It really hurt me and I just was not ready to go public and to say, "It was just not so black and white." You know what I mean?
Sheila Bella:
Of course.
Kler Rosenberg:
I'm not a backstabber, I'm a good person. I didn't steal anything. I even changed all the terminology for freaking sake, and it took me years to get used to it. I changed the pattern, I changed everything. I came out with all different things with the help of my partners. We came out with amazing ideas, like we created a latex that has the strokes on it. The disposable tool with the two sides, we have other good things that are coming out.
We don't want to copy people, we don't want to talk bad about people. We're Beauty Angels, we're good people and we teach this. The first thing I teach when I go to my class, you know what it is, Sheila? Don't talk negative about people. Always be positive. Always race with yourself. I always race with myself. I didn't say, "Oh you know what, Gabriela had these many students. Oh my God, Frankie had these many students, these were the masters in PhiBrow." I always said, "I had 10 students. My next one is going to be 12 students."
Sheila Bella:
It's you.
Kler Rosenberg:
Or I have three-
Sheila Bella:
You against you.
Kler Rosenberg:
... clients, next week I want to have four clients. I just go like this. Mind your own God damn business and look like this. You don't need to be going. There is a lot of amazing trainers. I tell my students, "Learn from everybody, even our trainers."
We allow our students to go with other trainers for free. I tell them, "Listen, you live in New York, you came here, but Kim Do is there. Why don't you go to Kim's class next or Celine's class in her area?" I tell them, "We have other masters. We are a family." This is what I wanted, to create a family that the students feel so comfortable, so safe that they're never going to be alone.
This is what my dream was, that anytime they want to come to a class, "You're welcome. I'm not going to charge you extra. You want to come 10 times, come 10 times." This is what I wanted to do and I teach this to my kids. Always be good to people, even the bad. You know what my grandma used to say?
Sheila Bella:
What?
Kler Rosenberg:
It's crazy. She used to say, "Always be good to people." "But grandma, sometimes people are very mean and nasty. Even if they shit on my face?" She says, "My dear, even if they shit on your face, you don't shit on their face. You be the big one. You be the good one." That's always she taught me, and I think this is an amazing message to give to the whole universe. You know what?
Sheila Bella:
Sorry to interrupt, do you think that this culture that you have instilled in people, so just from personal experience... Whenever we've collaborated on anything together or done anything together, I feel this genuine comradery with you. I don't feel like you're trying to...
Kler Rosenberg:
Speak English, I don't understand com.
Sheila Bella:
Stop, you're not trying to hold me down, you're happy for me. You're happy for me, and also word gets around in the industry. The people that work with you and for you, I mean across the board, the reputable people, I have to say have very good things to say about you. They don't feel pinned down. They feel very supported by you. They all say, "Kler, supports me. If I ever want to build my personal brand, she says, 'Go.'" You're happy for people.
Kler Rosenberg:
I always said that.
Sheila Bella:
You're happy. Yeah, and I think that's why when I met you at PCS and I came across your booth, that's what drew me to you. It was free. It wasn't like, "I want something from you." It was more like, "Yeah, girl. Go do whatever you want."
Kler Rosenberg:
You know what is so funny? I tell my trainers, I said, "Listen, this is like a marriage. If both sides are not happy, you're not going to stay."
Sheila Bella:
It's so good.
Kler Rosenberg:
I would have never ever left PhiBrows. I had the world by the balls. It was so easy. They just did everything for me. I wouldn't have to gone to build a brand. I would have never done it.
Sheila Bella:
Why do you think that is? Do you think Branco felt threatened? Maybe a little bit, that's from me, not you, that's from me who doesn't know...
Kler Rosenberg:
No, I don't...
Sheila Bella:
You don't think so? Well, why else would he let you go? You don't think that maybe he was like...
Kler Rosenberg:
No, it was like a very personal thing.
Sheila Bella:
It was fear.
Kler Rosenberg:
It was with money, no. Legitimately he was very upset at me. He was very upset at me, but it's something that I really didn't do. I had no idea what I was doing. You know what I mean?
Sheila Bella:
Right. Okay.
Kler Rosenberg:
It was like stupid. I was like, "Why would I ever do some..." You know what I was doing? I was giving students, online students to my trainers, that's what I was doing. I was getting a little commission when I was giving students, but I had no idea that I was not supposed to do it. I was like, "Okay." It was just a misunderstanding, that's all.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah, I think communication is important. Was he always good at communication, or was that a part that you felt could have been improved?
Kler Rosenberg:
He was always busy. I'm always available with my trainers. Sheila, my trainers message me, I message them right back.
Sheila Bella:
I know.
Kler Rosenberg:
I never want them to feel what I felt like, "You can't reach this, oh my gosh, Kler." I'm a human.
Sheila Bella:
Stop it.
Kler Rosenberg:
It's just true.
Sheila Bella:
We got to talk about that. Okay, question, so I think Instagram is going to wrap us up in five minutes. I think so, it's going to give us a cut off. Okay, real quick question, it's a hard question though. Really quick. What did you learn from this situation? Is there something that you feel you could have done better, and is there something that you feel like Branco could have done better or no?
Kler Rosenberg:
To be honest with you, I didn't do anything wrong. I learned something that... I don't know what I learned.
Sheila Bella:
Well you learned that you can do it yourself.
Kler Rosenberg:
I learned something, that I could do something on my own.
Sheila Bella:
You could do it yourself.
Kler Rosenberg:
That's what I learned, I was super scared and now we have a very strong brand that people call me or message me every day, Sheila. They tell me, "The energy of your academy is so radiant that it goes through."
Sheila Bella:
It's just you girl, it's you.
Kler Rosenberg:
No.
Sheila Bella:
No, I'm not even trying to flatter you or anything, it's just you. It's not Beauty Angels, it's like it's Kler.
Kler Rosenberg:
I am who I am.
Sheila Bella:
I freaking love you. Yeah.
Kler Rosenberg:
I don't sugar coat it. I tell people, "If I don't like you, you're going to know that I don't like you. I try a little bit to fake it, but I can't fake it." You know what my philosophy is? If I cannot say anything to your face, to your own face, I'm not going to go tell.
Sheila Bella:
What? Yeah, I agree.
Kler Rosenberg:
Another thing that I wanted to tell you that I practice, when I married my husband, we had counseling. It's called imago therapy. We had arguments and you know it's normal, we don't argue anymore. We are all great. You know what it is? You need to put yourself into the other person's shoe. I understand Branco, I totally I'm okay.
Sheila Bella:
You're the best. You're the best.
Kler Rosenberg:
Because if you don't, you cannot judge people. You need to see how the other person is. She always said, "Kler, stop being in your country. Now we're going to visit Scott's country and then vice versa," but she would never say, "You're right or I'm right." You are going to be that person and you know what? I always was very upset about my friend who went and told remember, Charles and Leila when they got married, but you know why she did it? It's because I felt threatened from her, because she kept copying me.
Everything, my hair, the plates that I had, the [inaudible 01:10:23], no like really the same my green bedroom set, looked like a single white female like there was a movie. I said that to my boss. I said, "I look like [crosstalk 01:10:36]-
Sheila Bella:
I've been there before.
Kler Rosenberg:
... single white female," and then years and years later when she reached out to me, I was like, "I'm going to give it to that bitch. I'm going to give it to her." Well listen, now I have money, now I live on the water. Now I'm driving this." She said to me, "I'm so happy for you. I don't know why you thought that I wouldn't be."
Sheila, it changed my whole life. Since then, whether it's my husbands, my kids, my friends, my trainers, my students, anyone, imago therapy.
Sheila Bella:
Amazing.
Kler Rosenberg:
Imago therapy.
Sheila Bella:
We have two minutes.
Kler Rosenberg:
If I don't want it... I'm going to wrap it up. I don't shut up, that's my...
Sheila Bella:
In two minutes Instagram is going to cut us off.
Kler Rosenberg:
Two minutes.
Sheila Bella:

Kler Rosenberg:
Master Kler Rosenberg, and I know everybody thinks master is so cony. I started like this, what I'm I going to do now, change it?
