Well, I've got the hookup sister. I've been using Instagram to print money for years.
Okay, so it doesn't actually print extra money. But it does something even better. In this episode, my friend and Beauty Angels founder, Kler Rosenberg, and I are going to tell you exactly how you can turn your Instagram into a money-making machine.
Every day, Instagram sells my products for me. When my salon was open, it sold brows, every day. Each post, each comment, each interaction was like more money printed directly into my wallet, okay? And this is something that you can learn to do too TODAY.
We also talk about how you can create genuine, lasting relationships and friendships in the PMU industry! No fake friends here.
Let's get into it!

Sheila Bella:
Beauty business owners, what's up? This is your wake-up call to profiting in 2021. If you are not visible daily, you are invisible. An online presence is not a suggestion, it is a must. Unfortunately, plenty of business owners recently learned this the hard way, right? So if you want to stay relevant in today's ever-changing beauty industry, you have to be on social media, but a lot of people don't know what to do on social media. So my new free training, called Seven Figure Instagram Formula, can get you started on how to create seven figure habits on Instagram and get your business up to speed. I used all of these steps in this free training to grow a multiple seven figure beauty business and a multiple seven figure online business. I want to share them all with you for free.
So here's what you got to do to go get it. All you need to do is text the words "seven figure formula" to my phone number, which is area code 310-388-4588. That's 310-388-4588. Just text "seven figure formula," and I will text you back the link. I'll see you guys there.
Welcome to Pretty Rich Podcast, where you're totally the heroine of your own story. I'm your host, Sheila Bella, and I've built a seven figure PMU beauty biz and a seven figure online biz without a degree, without a fancy website, or a sugar daddy. If you and I hang out on here long enough, you're going to start to believe that you can do it too. How about that for a side effect of listening to this podcast? Because you really can.
I know you think I don't know you, I have no idea who you are, but I do. I really, really do because I am you. I was you. I believe we are all on the same journey together. My perfect job didn't exist so I created it. The job I wanted wasn't hiring me, wanted nothing to do with me, so I skipped the line and hired myself as CEO just like you can. So consider me your secret beauty biz BFF. In case you need to be reminded on a weekly basis that power is never just handed to you, you have to take it, are you ready beauty bots? Let's jump in.
What's up, you guys? Okay, what if you learned a skill that basically taught you how to print money on demand and your printer was Instagram? So that's exactly what I chat about with Kler Rosenberg. I was on her platform this time and we talk all about how to make money on Instagram. I know that description was, for those of you who don't understand the process yet or maybe you're not in my program, you don't think that's a thing. Instagram can literally, can literally print money on demand if you know what you're doing. I'm not kidding. I'm a hundred percent serious. That's why I'm so passionate about talking about my programs, you guys, because this is really what I teach you how to do.
I remember when I first learned this, I felt like a real boss. I finally felt like I knew what I was doing. I was like, "Oh, that's... Oh, my God." The feeling of competency is priceless. So guys, today I am going to replay a live that I did on Kler Rosenberg, Master Kler Rosenberg's Instagram. For those of you who don't know her, she is the CEO of Beauty Angels, and she was the very first PhiBrows trainer, master, in the United States.
I have to say that she has become a real friend. When you guys listen to this replay, let me warn you, we have chemistry. We sound insane. Somebody even commented, "Are you guys intoxicated? Are you guys drunk?" I promise you, I did not have a lick of liquor on this live session. I don't know. She just brings it out of me, and I just bring out the white girl wasted in her. It's so much fun, and she asked some really hard questions. I have to say that Kler has become a real friend. She's been one of the gifts of 2020.
Have you ever found yourself retracting from friendships, from certain friendships, and just wanting to keep somebody at arm's length? I feel like I've done that a few times this year. No arguments, no real falling out, no... Yeah, there was no pivotal moment where I'm like, "I'm not talking to you anymore" or anything like that. I just realized that they weren't being vulnerable with me. They weren't being real. Or I realized that they were not as reliable as they said they were, as I thought they would be. I realized maybe that they were kind of selfish, and they valued their time. They wouldn't give as much of their time as I gave, that things needed to be very particular before they would hang out. I'm talking about different people. Very particular, like only a specific time of day, and it's not even a schedule thing. It's just like a, "I'm not going to go out of my way for you" thing.
Maybe they just stopped being vulnerable, like I said. I would ask them, "Hey, how are you?" Listen, when somebody asks me, I was at a drive-through Starbucks the other day, this morning. Somebody asked me, "How are you," and I said, I gave them a real answer, right? I gave them a real answer. I was like, "You know what? I am really high on life. I couldn't sleep last night." I said, "You know what? This has never felt this way before. It's not always like this. I've had a lot of ups and downs, but I got to say, I'm having a really good morning." This is what I told this complete stranger. So I guess my expectations for honesty and vulnerability might be higher than others.
Yeah, when a friend stops being vulnerable with me or it's like pulling teeth to get a real answer out of them, you retract a little bit naturally, right? Or I do. I'm not mad at them, not at all, I'm not. I just know who they are. I'm not mad, I truly am not mad. You just know now, I just know what I'm getting, I know what the deal is. I haven't stopped talking to them. It's just that I just know. I know what this is, right? Because I believe my time is insanely valuable. It's insanely valuable to me, and now that I have children, it's so precious, it's even more precious. I don't want to split that time with somebody who doesn't value it as much as my children do or half as much, right? No one values it as much as your kids do. I'm just not interested in wasting my time on superficial and less than honest relationships. I don't want to burn the day on flattery with no follow through.
I feel like I have this with Kler. You'll see it. She's fun and I do have a real connection with her. I am a type eight on the Enneagram, and one of the things, one of the traits of an Enneagram eight personality is we are turned off by people who are too nice. That's something that my son, Grey, also is like. I know he's three years old, but he is an eight through and through. He loses interest when people are too nice to him, and so we like real.
Listen, I love it when people are nice to me. Are you kidding? But when some things are sincere compliments, when it's a sincere compliment, you can feel it. I can feel it. I can feel the difference between flattery and a sincere feeling that somebody has about me or the impact I've had in their lives, something like that. Yeah, I don't know. I don't want to burn the day on empty flattery or smalltalk. I'm not good at smalltalk, as you guys can probably pick up on. I want depth. I want real. I want ride or die. Even if it's not ride or die, I just want real, just real, just be real with me. What is the truth? Right? I don't want somebody to exaggerate their feelings or say, "I love you, I love you, I love you," but when you need them, they're not really there, only at their convenience. So my circle is smaller.
There was a shirt that Ali... Oh, my gosh, Lash Anarchist. Ali [inaudible 00:10:24] was wearing on our coaching call the other day. You know the Friends logo, the TV show Friends? She was wearing that, but then it says, "I don't want more friends." I was like, "I want that shirt." I say that but I find myself picking up new friends all the time. I'm like, "I said I wasn't going to add to my circle." You know what? It's not about the friends that I have, like the number of friends. I guess, now that I'm older, I've demanded more quality friends. I demand that somebody be as low maintenance as me, because I am a low maintenance friend. I am. Ask them. If we haven't talked in a while, I'm not going to be offended, because I know you're out there, you're killing it, right? I see you. We check in. We bond and then we go, right?
Life is just so much simpler when you surround yourself with real ones. I have to say, Kler's one of those people. That's why she's been on this podcast for the second time this year. Is it this year, and it's only January. She's crazy. I love her and she's crazy in all of the best freaking ways. Watch when she says, "Listen, listen." That's such a Kler thing. "Listen." That's something I've picked up too. It's a habit of hers that I've picked up.
Here it is, the replay, How to Make Money on Social Media. Oh, one more time, one second. Before I play this for you, if you like this podcast and you still haven't left a five-star review on iTunes, please do so, because next week I'm going to be choosing a winner, anybody who left me a five-star review on iTunes, screen-shotted it, posted it on Instagram and left their IG handle, if you did all of those things, I'm going to be announcing a winner to win any of the programs I have on SheilaBella.com/Programs, all beauty business marketing program, free program, so yeah. Go get 'em. Here it is, my live with Master Kler Rosenberg.
Kler Rosenberg:
How do you guys like my new filter? [inaudible 00:12:51]
Sheila Bella:
Oh, my gosh. Let me get into the frame. Kler. Hold on.
Kler Rosenberg:
Hello. Oh, you look pretty.
Sheila Bella:
Nice hair.
Kler Rosenberg:
I just colored it. This is my favorite filter. I'm in love with it, I swear to God. Then I have my lashes, you know?
Sheila Bella:
When I first sent you filters, you were like, "Sheila, this is so unnatural I can't deal." Now look at you.
Kler Rosenberg:
I'm the queen of filters, right?
Sheila Bella:
I know. I'm so proud.
Kler Rosenberg:
Hello, hello, guys.
Sheila Bella:
Hi everyone.
Kler Rosenberg:
I can't hear you well. Hold on. Hold on.
Sheila Bella:
Oh, you can't hear me?
Kler Rosenberg:
Okay. Not bad, not bad. Is it just me?
Sheila Bella:
Testing, testing, can you guys hear me? You should because we're about to teach you how to make some money online.
Kler Rosenberg:
Okay. Sheila, I'm so happy to have you here tonight, one of my favorite people.
Sheila Bella:
You're one of my favorite people. That's one of the blessings of 2020, honestly.
Kler Rosenberg:
I know, right?
Sheila Bella:
With Kler Rosenberg in my life.
Kler Rosenberg:
Our friends who are joined in and they don't know you, so I want you to introduce... Before we start talking about how to make the big bucks on Instagram, I want them to get to know you a little bit, so tell us, who is Sheila Bella?
Sheila Bella:
Who am I?
Kler Rosenberg:
Who are you?
Sheila Bella:
First of all, when I hear the name... Can you guys hear me okay? Because if not, I'm just going to take off my earphones. Laura gave me these. She said they're... This is influencer approved. So if I'm going to be a real influencer, I'm supposed to use air pods anyway.
Kler Rosenberg:
Oh. Then I'm not, because I don't have them. That was me. It's fine. No worries.
Sheila Bella:
Who am I?
Kler Rosenberg:
It's a little low. It's a little low.
Sheila Bella:
Oh, it is? You know what?
Kler Rosenberg:
Yes, I know, she's a little low. We can hear but it's a little low. This is my hair, by the way. It's not a wig or anything. It's my hair, Sheila. I just had my hair done.
Sheila Bella:
Oh, mine's okay. Oh, wow. Is this better, you guys? Is this better audio?
Kler Rosenberg:
Yes, it is definitely better, yes.
Sheila Bella:
Okay, great. Okay. Look at that. Influencer yourself. Who am I? When I hear the name, Sheila Bella, I have to say I feel like it sounds like... I didn't want it to be my name. I don't think I'm Sheila Bella. My real name is Sheila Ferrari-Molina. I chose Sheila Bella-
Kler Rosenberg:
Oh, my God, now I'm going to have to kill you.
Sheila Bella:
What?
Kler Rosenberg:
Because everybody now knows who you are.
Sheila Bella:
Now you can Google me. All right, fine, go for it. I've been married before. I've done some things. But I said Sheila Bella because I was entering... I was starting a beauty business, and then so I was like, "Oh, bella means beauty." That's it, right?
Kler Rosenberg:
Yes.
Sheila Bella:
But who am I? I am in my heart, I know that I'm an immigrant. I should not be where I am today, but by the grace of God and hard work, I am. Yeah, I'm from the Philippines. English is my second language. I'm a mother of two. I am a wife.
Kler Rosenberg:
I didn't know that. I didn't know English was your second language.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah, girl, English is my second language. This is why your immigration story hit home for me.
Kler Rosenberg:
Right. I didn't know.
Sheila Bella:
I came here when I was eight years old, and it was like culture shock.
Kler Rosenberg:
Wow.
Sheila Bella:
It was. My father, bless his heart, he took us from a terrible part of Los Angeles, where I lived in a two-bedroom apartment with 10 people, a two-bedroom apartment with 10 people, to a middle class house in North Hollywood, within five years of being here. So my dad, he is my example of grinding it out and being successful, and so I think that's where I get it from. If it was possible for him, he was a Filipino guy with a thick Filipino accent, and he made it work. You work with what you got.
Kler Rosenberg:
So you were eight when you came here?
Sheila Bella:
I was eight years old when I came here, yeah.
Kler Rosenberg:
Got it. You still got to tell us, though, more about you.
Sheila Bella:
Okay. I am a musical theater obsessed nerd, a musical theater nerd. For those of you who don't know who I am, I think the industry knows me as the CEO and founder of Sheila Bella Microblading. We have done over 20,000-plus procedures. I myself have done half of those, so I'm sure 10,000 and up. I have seven artists who work with me. I don't like to say for me. I like to say with me. They've been with me for five years or more, so I'm really proud that my retention-
Kler Rosenberg:
Your retention.
Sheila Bella:
High. I'm really proud of that, and I'm very close to them, but it wasn't always like that. There was a time where I had 15 artists and six other front desk admin employees, and I had two locations.
Kler Rosenberg:
You don't have anymore two locations?
Sheila Bella:
I only have one now.
Kler Rosenberg:
Oh, okay.
Sheila Bella:
It didn't make any sense to have one in Beverly Hills and North Hollywood. They're 20 minutes from each other.
Kler Rosenberg:
True. I never understood why you had them, two.
Sheila Bella:
The Beverly Hills one, I actually thought that foot traffic would help, but what I've learned is that it's no longer about that.
Kler Rosenberg:
No, people go to you wherever you are.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah. It's about your social media address. It's your social media presence. Good segue, Kler, to social media. Ka-ching, ka-ching, ka-ching. I learned that the hard way. I've made a lot of mistakes in my career. I've wasted a lot of money on crazy things, like a storefront. I thought it was a wise idea. Turns out that it was a waste of money. It didn't make that big of a difference, so for even Los Angeles, people who think a high traffic location will bring you more business, honestly, it's minimal, and I had it in the heart of Beverly Hills. What matters most to me now, after a lot of trial and error, is your social media visibility and your presence.
I spent $35,000 on cable ads, on the E-Network, on Bravo, and maybe I got one client from that. So I've just tried a lot of things. I've had the opportunity, honestly, and the privilege of failing at all of these different things, because it's a hard lesson to learn, but it's a very valuable lesson. I've had the privilege to be able to fail, learn from it, and get back up. So yeah. That's why now I am a beauty business coach. I help permanent makeup artists, permanent makeup artists particularly, who want to find more students to teach or find more clients or hire and expand and build a team who are sick and tired of being the everything in their business, the slave girl to their businesses. I help them to fail the same way I did.
I was making multiple seven figures within three years, and I've learned a lot. Listen, the first chunk of change that I made, I blew it. I was young, I didn't know what the ... I didn't know the value of money. I didn't. To me, it happened a little bit too easily. I just learned so much, and so that's why I'm so passionate about helping other business owners do the same. I relate to business owners, I'm so protective of business owners, because I think a lot of business owners are villainized, because they see you're the CEO and they think you have all this money.
Kler Rosenberg:
Money.
Sheila Bella:
And they don't... Right? They don't realize that a lot of times, and if you guys relate to this, let me know... A lot of times a lot of CEOs will pay their employees more than they're paying themselves. That's something that I hear frequently. If you are doing that, then we need to chat. I don't do that anymore.
Kler Rosenberg:
I think what you built, which is called the Pretty Rich Bosses, I don't know if you mentioned it, but I'm going to mention it, you are just I think an amazing person, amazing coach, and you built an amazing team of coaches that is coaching a lot of other people, because obviously you can't be coaching every single person, but you are coaching me.
Sheila Bella:
That's right.
Kler Rosenberg:
So anyway, so I feel special.
Sheila Bella:
Every Wednesday.
Kler Rosenberg:
I'm a little special. But let's talk about now what you guys do a little bit, and get to the part where how can they make money with this amazing platform, Instagram, and it's free, right? That's what we want to know. That's what we want to suck up your knowledge, okay?
Sheila Bella:
Okay, cool.
Kler Rosenberg:
How did you get started with social media? How did you begin your career as a business coach?
Sheila Bella:
Good question.
Kler Rosenberg:
How did that whole thing happen?
Sheila Bella:
Okay. How to get started in social media. Back in the day, let's say when Instagram first started, I didn't know how Instagram was important, but I knew it was important, and I knew it was powerful. I just couldn't explain at the time why.
Kler Rosenberg:
Did somebody tell you? Because I was really late in the game, Sheila. I was so late in the game. I was doing Facebook. Then I started building my Instagram, but it was late. I would have had so many more followers if I knew how powerful it was.
Sheila Bella:
Well, social media in general I always felt was powerful, because I remember when the days of Myspace was still around, I was all up on that. I was all up on that.
Kler Rosenberg:
I don't know what is Myspace. I used to hear it.
Sheila Bella:
You don't need to. You don't need to.
Kler Rosenberg:
It died, right? There is no such a thing as Myspace anymore.
Sheila Bella:
No, not anymore. Oh, my gosh, they were giants and now they're gone. I knew social media was important. Now I can articulate what I loved about it. What I loved about it was that it gave you the power to control your narrative. It doesn't matter what anybody says about you. It doesn't matter. You control your story, same as a website. So you get a bad review on Yelp, you post somebody reacting to your work, super moved in a super awesome way, you slap some music on it, and that Yelp review is null. I think that social media is incredibly powerful. If you think about who holds the power in this world, it's the media. It's the media.
Kler Rosenberg:
Yeah. Media can break you or make you. It's crazy.
Sheila Bella:
True. And what's great about it is that now everyone has the power to be their own media. You are your own media company, and social media, you can literally write news about yourself anyway you want. You control what people see. It's an amazing time to be alive, Kler. This is a miracle. If you would have told somebody in the Renaissance or Jesus' time that this was going to be happening right now, this is insane. This is like space age alien shit. You know what I mean?
Kler Rosenberg:
What's going to be in 50 years?
Sheila Bella:
I'm scared.
Kler Rosenberg:
I probably won't see it. I'd be 97. Ooh, I just gave away my age. But, you know, the thing is, I feel like things come and go. Do you think Instagram is here to stay? Now people are so against Facebook. People don't even like Facebook anymore.
Sheila Bella:
Okay, one thing is for sure. Social media is here to stay.
Kler Rosenberg:
Is here to stay, for sure. That, I agree with that.
Sheila Bella:
You just have to keep pivoting with the times, because I tell people if you are not on social media as a... I feel bad because a lot of my mentors in this industry are permanent makeup artists that are more mature, they're older, they're not as social media savvy. They're tech challenged. They're my matriarchs. I learned from them.
Kler Rosenberg:
Tech challenged.
Sheila Bella:
I learned from them. However, oh my gosh, Kler, you're killing it, by the way. I got some feedback about your real this morning from somebody in my group, and they're like, "Kler, I'm seeing her so much more now." Oh, my God. You're killing it.
Kler Rosenberg:
Oh, good. Thank you, Sheila.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah. I see my matriarchs and they're not on social media, and they're irrelevant. It's sad because technically they're more knowledgeable. They have more experience, but if you're not on-
Kler Rosenberg:
But why? Why are they not? That's interesting. Are they older?
Sheila Bella:
Yes, and I think it's because people are set in their ways. So I always use the analogy of Blockbuster Video.
Kler Rosenberg:
Oh, my God.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah. Where are they? They didn't modernize. They didn't pivot. They didn't innovate. So Netflix is all the rage. They didn't go digital. You have to go digital. It's just the way it is. You have [inaudible 00:29:07] this stuff if you want to survive. It's part of the conversation.
Kler Rosenberg:
Right. Right. It's funny. You know why? Because-
Sheila Bella:
Mm-hmm (affirmative).
Kler Rosenberg:
Because I started teaching about four and a half, five years, something like that, right? Yeah, like five years. I was teaching online courses, and at that time, Sheila, I was so down-looked. Is that the word? I don't know. Everybody was so against me. Oh, my God. Now, everybody's online. Everything is online, right? I was late bloomer with Instagram but I was a very early bloomer with the online courses.
Sheila Bella:
Oh, man, Kler, you're the OG.
Kler Rosenberg:
Not so bad.
Sheila Bella:
No, not so bad at all. That's great. You took a risk. That's great. You asked me how I got started on social media. I just decided one day that I was now important.
Kler Rosenberg:
What do you mean?
Sheila Bella:
I didn't wait for somebody to tell me that you're important now, Sheila, you can go ahead and act important. I just decided-
Kler Rosenberg:
Act important, I love it.
Sheila Bella:
... I am now important. People didn't ask for me to post all the time. No one was asking for content or anything like that. No one was. No one cared, but I just decided now that people care now. People care now. So I'm sorry, Will... that's my husband... I'm going to be 15 minutes late for dinner because I have to talk to my-
Kler Rosenberg:
Social media.
Sheila Bella:
I got to do some social media now. Nobody was watching, but you just need to decide that now you're famous. Now you're important. Now it's a priority, and now it is. Now my family, who was not about posing for pictures or anything like that, now that I get paid for it, now they're like, "Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, sure, where do want us to [inaudible 00:31:21]? Is this okay? Am I doing it okay? You want me to hold you closer, so it's a more intimate looking photo? What do you want?" I was like, "Yeah, yeah, yeah." I was like, "Hold me and tilt your neck like this so that it looks passionate." Heck yeah.
Kler Rosenberg:
I love it. Okay. Well, I want to know what is the best investment you've ever made.
Sheila Bella:
Business coaching, and I'm not just freaking saying that, Kler, I am not saying that.
Kler Rosenberg:
Me too. That's my best investment. You're worth every dollar, every dollar and more.
Sheila Bella:
I love you.
Kler Rosenberg:
I'm going to send even more money next month.
Sheila Bella:
Oh, man, I love you. Okay. I'm not kidding. I get emotional talking about it. My business coaching has really changed my life. It's really changed my life and the lives of people around me. Having somebody to tell you what to do, because I remember when I was by myself, I felt like I was crossing the street with a blindfold on. I had a feeling that I was sitting on something lucrative. I know I'm sitting on something lucrative. I just don't know how to rearrange the furniture. It's like having a puzzle in front of you. All the pieces are there. You just don't know how to put it together.
Kler Rosenberg:
Put it together, yeah.
Sheila Bella:
When I hired a business coach, I was making six figures online within the first 60 days. It was a business coach that isn't even likable.
Kler Rosenberg:
Isn't what what?
Sheila Bella:
Isn't very likable, because I feel like they're misunderstood, very harsh, non-emotional.
Kler Rosenberg:
Listen, not everybody is as magnetic as you are. It's just not. It's the truth. You have a personality that is super magnetic and it's just very... For me, I look forward to my coaching calls with you. You teach me, but I'm also on the other hand having fun, you know what I mean?
Sheila Bella:
Yeah, we do have fun.
Kler Rosenberg:
You know what's so funny? I am going to onboard a lovely master in San Diego she is, and maybe she's watching. Hi, Karlee. Today I was telling her a little bit about you, and it was funny, because it's stuff that you've been teaching me, which I want to talk about a little bit here, about the little tips that what they should do to get their Instagram going. It totally helps me. I know it's not easy. Everybody's like... not everybody, but a lot of people are shy, and people don't believe me, but remember I was telling you, I'm shy. I don't like these things. I don't like getting-
Sheila Bella:
You're telling me to like, "Is it going to be weird, because I'm going to start doing social media now?"
Kler Rosenberg:
I know. It's weird because I never did it.. When I was with Glenn, who was my brother-in-law and my business partner, he pushed me, and every time he was literally next to me. So I felt like a security blanket almost, of I need my blanket, I need my blanket. He would tell me, "Okay, so we're going to talk about this, this, this and we're going to do this," and I'm like, well, I don't have him now, so for a long time, for about, I don't know, four or five months, I didn't do anything. I didn't do anything.
I was like, "Okay, what am I supposed to do now?" I was nervous. I still don't like it. I still don't like going live. It takes me a while, and then I [sound effect 00:35:41], I don't shut the hell up. When I have somebody to talk to, and then what does Sheila tells me? Oh, I got to have my own podcast. Like, I should do my own thing. Then you know what? I'm going to make you proud. I'm going to make you proud, because I'm going to go and I'm going to tell my story that everybody's dying to know, what happened with PhiBrows? Why did I leave PhiBrows? What happened? I'm going to do it, and I'm going to make you proud.
Kler Rosenberg:
Now what I want to do is I want to give some tips to our friends who are with us right now. What do you think is the best few things that they need to do? I know the answer, but I want you to tell them. In their Instagram, how can they grow their Instagram simply, like a few things here that they could benefit?
Sheila Bella:
I have two things that I want to speak on. The first thing is using new features that Instagram pushes. So new features, such as right now I don't know how it's going to be a few months from now, it's Instagram Reels. Use Instagram Reels. It will blow you up. But you can't just post one or two, and you're like, "[inaudible 00:37:16] really feel anything."
Kler Rosenberg:
You have to be consistent, you got to be consistent.
Sheila Bella:
And have fun with it. I actually had a call, felt very honored, with Instagram directly.
Kler Rosenberg:
I know. When you told me that, I was like, "Are you kidding me?"
Sheila Bella:
I felt so famous. I felt so famous. See what happens when you decide you're famous now? Because I just decided I'm famous.
Kler Rosenberg:
I'm Instagram famous, you know? I'm Instagram famous.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah. They suggested to post at least four reels per week, which I'm like, Instagram freaking took the time to call me and tell me that? I'm going to do that. I'm going to do that. Today what did I do all day? That's what I did all day, all day, all day.
Kler Rosenberg:
They love your reels, and they love my reels. Somebody loves my reels too.
Sheila Bella:
I loved when you introduced your team on the reels, and you're dancing [inaudible 00:38:19].
Kler Rosenberg:
Yada, yada, yada, yada. Can I tell you that was actually my first one. That was very hard for me. I had to do it 25 times at least.
Sheila Bella:
Oh, my God, I was so jealous of Marcella. I was so proud of her too. I was like, "Oh, my God, this is the best."
Kler Rosenberg:
I know it was, right? That was a good one. People really liked it.
Sheila Bella:
It was so good. Okay, so use new features.
Kler Rosenberg:
They're reels. They're reels.
Sheila Bella:
They're reels. Just new features. Do it consistently. Use it all. Use the lives. Use the IDPV. Use a little bit of everything every day. You don't skip a day. Then the second thing is actually something called Strangers to Clients. It's my Strangers to Clients formula. Here's a plug. It's free. Go to SheilaBella.com/StrangersToClients. You can download it. SheilaBella.com/StrangersToClients, or just DM me and I'll just send you the links.
Kler Rosenberg:
Strangers to Clients? What?
Sheila Bella:
Strangers to Clients. Here's what it is basically. Kler, you already do this.
Kler Rosenberg:
Oh, I do? Good, good, good, because I want to be doing everything, all the tips that you give me.
Sheila Bella:
Think about, the whole point of social media, if you're in business, is to sell, right, to sell?
Kler Rosenberg:
That's what I said, ka-ching, ka-ching, ka-ching.
Sheila Bella:
It's your business. So think about what is the number one emotion that needs to happen before you hand somebody your credit card. What is the emotion that needs to happen before you hand someone your credit card, before you give your credit card number over the phone, before you give somebody cash, what is that emotion? That emotion that's necessary is trust. They need to trust you.
Kler Rosenberg:
To trust you.
Sheila Bella:
Know you, like you and trust you most of all. So I mapped out basically all of the types of content that you need to produce regularly in order to build trust with your audience. Number one, tell your story, because... I'll give you a two-minute version of it. When there's someone new at work, school, church, it doesn't matter, when there's someone new, pretend there's a new girl there.
Kler Rosenberg:
Okay. I'm pretending right now.
Sheila Bella:
We don't like her yet, Kler.
Kler Rosenberg:
I don't like her. Okay.
Sheila Bella:
We don't like her yet. I don't know. We're a little iffy. We're like, "Wait? What?" Now, if she does a couple things, then you're going to end up liking her. If she tells you her story, you might end up getting to understand her more. If she makes you laugh, you might like her more. If she teaches you something-
Kler Rosenberg:
That's me. I make people laugh.
Sheila Bella:
Right. If she teaches you something that you want to learn, you actually want to learn, and it helps you, you'll like her.
Kler Rosenberg:
I'm a teacher.
Sheila Bella:
If another one of your friends says, "Oh, my God, yeah, that girl Suzie, oh yeah, she's really cool," then you might like her more.
Kler Rosenberg:
Say that. Say that about me right now.
Sheila Bella:
Kler's the ish, man. She's the ish.
Kler Rosenberg:
See, I'm right, uh-huh (affirmative).
Sheila Bella:
Oh, and we don't like her if she shows up to work perfectly all the time. We don't like that.
Kler Rosenberg:
Okay.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah. We want her to get ugly sometimes and be okay with farting. Are you okay with farting, right?
Kler Rosenberg:
I'm okay. I'll fart.
Sheila Bella:
This is a wig, okay? You don't want her to be perfect, so show behind the scenes.
Kler Rosenberg:
What else? What else?
Sheila Bella:
You've got to do all of these things on social media, and then you can offer and talk about your services, talk about your class, talk about your special.
Kler Rosenberg:
Oh, by the way, I do a training in three weeks if anybody's interested, you know.
Sheila Bella:
There you go.
Kler Rosenberg:
Okay.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah, so those are the things. Use the new features and then use my Strangers to Clients formula, which I pretty much just gave you that.
Kler Rosenberg:
Cheers.
Sheila Bella:
Heck yeah. That is bitching Miami.
Kler Rosenberg:
Well, we're different. You drink with ice and I drink with no ice, but that's okay, I still like you, see?
Sheila Bella:
You know what? It wasn't cold. My sparkling water wasn't cold.
Kler Rosenberg:
Oh, it's Perrier?
Sheila Bella:
Not even.
Kler Rosenberg:
It has to be Perrier. This is flat. This is too flat, but you're much more sparkling than me. You're a sparkling woman. Okay. The reels. Wait a minute. You're going to share who you are, right? Tell your story, and that's what I'm going to tell my story, people, okay?
Sheila Bella:
Oh, my gosh. First of all, I just want to repeat what you just said. Guys, you guys understand what's happening right now? On Kler's podcast, she is going to open up without a filter about what happened between her and Branko. What happened between her and Branko? Not even PhiBrows, all the relationships detailed.
Kler Rosenberg:
Oh, my God, you're so-
Sheila Bella:
Because she has nothing to be embarrassed about.
Kler Rosenberg:
Listen, my eye lashes, my fake eye lashes, are getting wet. Stop it.
Sheila Bella:
I can't wait. I can't wait because that's how I'm going to talk about it on stories. I was like, "Kler's talking about what happened between her and Branko. Go there right now. She's telling everything."
Kler Rosenberg:
Oh, my God. Okay, that was funny.
Sheila Bella:
[crosstalk 00:44:22] "Last night Kler spilled the tea." That's what people really want to know, none of this-
Kler Rosenberg:
We're always spilling the tea in clarity. Hey, if you can't spill a tea, if you're a coffee drinker, then you're not welcome. Okay, so what do you think of collab'ing with other artists? Are you kidding? I can't even read this.
Sheila Bella:
Collaborating?
Kler Rosenberg:
Collab'ing. Collab'ing.
Sheila Bella:
Clubbing? Are we clubbing now? I [crosstalk 00:44:59] clubbing. [crosstalk 00:45:06] I feel like I'm looking in a mirror.
Kler Rosenberg:
Why are you looking naked?
Sheila Bella:
What? No. I'm wearing a pants suit thing.
Kler Rosenberg:
Oh, [inaudible 00:45:15], oh, okay. Okay, okay. I don't know. You kind of look naked and you look like you're in bed or something like that, you know? Just saying. I don't know. It's a little bit too personal, you know?
Sheila Bella:
We're spilling the tea. We're spilling clarity.
Kler Rosenberg:
I don't know. You know what?
Sheila Bella:
What's the question?
Kler Rosenberg:
I don't know. I was given this second paper. I don't know what I'm doing. I'm fine over here, okay?
Sheila Bella:
I think it's collaborations, what do I think about collaborating with other artists? Is that what you want to know?
Kler Rosenberg:
Collab, C-O-L-L-A-B.
Sheila Bella:
Oh, collab, collab.
Kler Rosenberg:
Sorry. My accent. My English is not so good looking.
Sheila Bella:
Oh. Okay, so collaboration. Collaborations I think are an amazing way to grow. I think it's the quickest way to grow. It's the quickest way to grow on social media, because it's instant. You guys are sharing audiences. You know what? What I love about collaborations is it's helped me get to know my industry. It's really helped me develop some genuine relationships with some really incredible women in our industry, and men, and I'm just really grateful for people being so willing to talk to me and collaborate with me and share their story.
Kler Rosenberg:
You're very approachable.
Sheila Bella:
Thanks.
Kler Rosenberg:
Has anyone told you that before?
Sheila Bella:
Thanks.
Kler Rosenberg:
You're welcome.
Sheila Bella:
You know what? Because I know what it's like to be rejected and shunned, and so I never want to make people feel that way.
Kler Rosenberg:
Rejected? I never get rejected.
Sheila Bella:
Never?
Kler Rosenberg:
Yeah, every guy I go, they want me. Even now, old like this. I'm joking.
Sheila Bella:
Oh, my gosh, here's a cougar.
Kler Rosenberg:
It's funny, because before I met my husband, I met my husband online, and I go to this one guy, and I had a picture, and I'm thinking, you know, I'm not so bad. I'm not like this or something like that, right? So the guy goes, "Well, you know what? You're cute but you're not my type." I was like, oh, my God, wow. I swear, so I've been rejected.
Sheila Bella:
That's your version of rejection? That's it?
Kler Rosenberg:
I've been rejected other ways too, from business and all that stuff.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah. Yeah.
Kler Rosenberg:
We all have. If somebody says they've never been rejected for whatever reason, whether by a person or a business or something, they're lying.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah, they are. We've all been rejected. Another thing too, I'm not as intimidated by people anymore, because I realize that that is inside all of us, everyone, even the most confident, cocky people in this industry, are just little kids inside. They're just all middle schoolers.
Kler Rosenberg:
Yeah, we all take a shit.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah, we're all in middle school. We're still going through puberty.
Kler Rosenberg:
No, I graduated. No, I graduated high school. I just never went to college. You're still in middle school?
Sheila Bella:
No. You know how middle school, like seventh grade, is probably the most awkward time in your life, where you're the most insecure?
Kler Rosenberg:
Yeah, I had so many pimples.
Sheila Bella:
Oh, yeah, people don't... Everyone there, when I walk into a room and everybody's all dressed up, I just see everyone as seventh graders with acne. That's really what you are. So it helps people-
Kler Rosenberg:
And then you start to smell.
Sheila Bella:
Your nose gets really big.
Kler Rosenberg:
Yes. Oh, my God.
Sheila Bella:
It's like too big for your face.
Kler Rosenberg:
You know, it's so funny, today, this morning, I was telling my son, "Your nose is growing. Either you're lying or you're getting too big."
Sheila Bella:
You're so mean. Yeah, it's true.
Kler Rosenberg:
I'm not mean. I'm what you see, what you get. It's true.
Sheila Bella:
At 13... Look, everyone knows... I used to. I got it done. I used it. Everyone's nose at 13 gets really big and everyone has acne, and so everyone has trauma. I just think that is inside everyone, and we're all just trying to belong really hard. I'm an eight on the Enneagram, so I think I have everyone figured out before I meet them. That's what I think.
Kler Rosenberg:
What? What did you just say?
Sheila Bella:
There is a personality test, Kler, that I keep telling you to take. It's called the Enneagram.
Kler Rosenberg:
She's a liar. She never told me this. It's the first time I'm hearing this. Bold lie. Not even just a lie. It's a bold... When did you tell me that? Where do I take this? I'll just go buy it now.
Sheila Bella:
Oh, okay, I'll send it to you after this. Are you sure?
Kler Rosenberg:
You're such a good salesperson. Whatever you say to me I buy. You cost me too much money. Oh, my gosh.
Sheila Bella:
I'm going to sell the Enneagram to you and everyone listening to this right now. The Enneagram test, it's life changing. It allows you to understand people so much clearer, and it helps you understand yourself. There's nine personalities or something like that, so I am an eight with a three wing.
Kler Rosenberg:
Somebody's a three. How do all these people know what they are and I don't know?
Sheila Bella:
Oh, yeah, see... Danielle's a solid eight-
Kler Rosenberg:
I'm a five star.
Sheila Bella:
No, you're not.
Kler Rosenberg:
[crosstalk 00:51:27] eight.
Sheila Bella:
I think you're a three.
Kler Rosenberg:
Oh, wait, are you an eight also?
Sheila Bella:
I'm an eight.
Kler Rosenberg:
There's an eight [inaudible 00:51:33] right here, [inaudible 00:51:33]. You're like Sheila Bella. Ah. We're getting a lot of love here.
Sheila Bella:
It really helps you understand yourself, and if you're a leader, it helps you understand your team, and it helps you understand what motivates people better, like what are they motivated by? What are they after? It's such a great tool. I'm all about the Enneagram. I'm actually going to have... Oh, you can't miss this... an Enneagram coach the first week of February inside our Pretty Rich Boss's group, Tracy O'Malley. I just talked to her right now, but she's going to teach us all about the Enneagram and how to use it in your business. I'm telling you, it's such a life-changing tool. You can even use it for your kids, so I know what my kids are.
Kler Rosenberg:
My kids or my kits?
Sheila Bella:
Your kids, children.
Kler Rosenberg:
I know, I know, I know. I'm just kidding.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah, it's a great tool, the Enneagram.
Kler Rosenberg:
Oh, there's a lot of eights. Ivan is also an eight. Interesting. How do you all know about this and I'm so behind? I'm so behind.
Sheila Bella:
Okay, I'll send it to you. I thought I already did. Just Google Enneagram on Google. There's a website called Truity, T-R-U-I-T-Y.com, and it has a bunch of personality tests, but to me the Enneagram is the best one.
Kler Rosenberg:
Okay. I want to ask you a few questions if you don't mind.
Sheila Bella:
Okay.
Kler Rosenberg:
How do you keep yourself up to date with all the trends on social media?
Sheila Bella:
Oh, okay.
Kler Rosenberg:
Who tells you? Like, why am I learning this from you? Who are you learning it from?
Sheila Bella:
Great question, Kler.
Kler Rosenberg:
Thank you. I wrote all this.
Sheila Bella:
Marcella. You're like, "Collab." I spend time on the platform.
Kler Rosenberg:
What platform?
Sheila Bella:
This platform on Instagram. I spend time on the platform. If there's a new button, I press it. I'm not scared of it. There's a new something or other, I play with it. You have to spend time on the platform. Another thing I do is I listen to podcasts. I listen to podcasts every day, because I always want to be learning something every single day. The Science of Social Media podcasts is a good one by Buffer, mine of course, Gary Vee's podcast.
Kler Rosenberg:
Yeah, Gary-
Sheila Bella:
Yeah, Gary. Hold on. I got to plug in my phone. Yeah, I make sure that I'm up to date with the latest things, because it's my job. I know I'm really close. Hold on.
Kler Rosenberg:
Yeah, that's true, it is your job. So you do that and you spend all those times on those platforms so you could come and just deliver me the cream. So you drink all the milk, and then I'll just take the top, the cream part.
Sheila Bella:
I have to say, I think everyone should take it more seriously, because it's the way we market these days, right? It's the way you get your message across, so I think-
Kler Rosenberg:
We have a question, and I'm curious about this. What about TikTok? What about TikTok?
Sheila Bella:
TikTok right now is a very easy platform to grow on. You should be on TikTok. If you want to grow, it's a very-
Kler Rosenberg:
I am on TikTok, and the first person who was following me was my little son Daniel, and then I looked. I was like, "Okay, I have five people following me on TikTok. It's the academy. I'm not on TikTok as Kler Rosenberg. It's under Beauty Angels Academy.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah. It's really easy to grow on there. If you can keep it consistent, by all means.
Kler Rosenberg:
It's hard. It's not easy to do TikTok. It takes a lot of time, but I think it could give, in my opinion, a lot of exposure to people.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah, absolutely. Anything you can do consistently, do it. Once you choose a platform, just stay on there.
Kler Rosenberg:
How many TikToks per week? There's a question. How many TikToks per week? Your TikTok can be your reels, yes, but I was told by my coach, who is right here, that that doesn't count. The TIkTok that you put as a reel, it doesn't really count, right? Is that right? Is that what you said?
Sheila Bella:
No, you can create it on reels and then move it over to TikTok. You can. You can. However, what I will say is that the algorithm prefers videos that you edit inside their editing software, their platform.
Kler Rosenberg:
That's what it was, okay, okay. But I think maybe you could tell your friends on Instagram that-
Sheila Bella:
"My friends."
Kler Rosenberg:
Yes, because you're friends, like they call you and shit, so-
Sheila Bella:
Yeah, they call me and shit.
Kler Rosenberg:
I know. So tell them that it's easy to do those... changing the stuff around or putting the stuff, it's easier on TikTok. That's why people who do it on the TikTok and they sticker it, they stick it into their Instagram, that's what they're doing that.
Sheila Bella:
They did ask for feedback, and I gave feedback.
Kler Rosenberg:
Oh.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah.
Kler Rosenberg:
You should call them, give more feedback.
Sheila Bella:
I told them what the feature I wanted was, number one, I think geotagging for reels would be great, like the location, and also-
Kler Rosenberg:
Yes. I have that in my questions, by the way.
Sheila Bella:
Oh, okay.
Kler Rosenberg:
What is that? What is the hashtag and geotag? Why is that important?
Sheila Bella:
Now a geotag is basically a way where you can tag your location. It allows users who are in your area who are looking for things or services that are within that area or that city, it allows them to show up. There are certain people who follow a certain location or a geotag. Hashtags are also really important because it increases your visibility or your chance of visibility, your chances of visibility. You can use up to 30 hashtags per post. You can even use them for reels. The only thing, though, that I'm finding with a lot of people is that they're using the same hashtags. They just cut and paste, cut and paste, cut and paste.
Kler Rosenberg:
No good.
Sheila Bella:
No, because the algorithm sees that as robotic behavior, so it's not genuine, it's not authentic to the post. So what they want-
Kler Rosenberg:
Don't be a robot.
Sheila Bella:
Variety. Yeah, variety of quantity as well as the type of hashtag, so use big hashtags, mega hashtags, and micro hashtags and everything in between.
Kler Rosenberg:
Wait, wait, wait, wait. What? Mega, micro, this is microblading, like a micro hashtag?
Sheila Bella:
Use hashtags with a lot of volume. Like if you use the hashtag Love, there's millions upon millions of things that come up with a hashtag love, but then if you use a hashtag like LoveInLosAngeles, it's probably like 2,000. What you want to do is you want to take big ones as well as little ones, things with big searches, [inaudible 01:00:02] volume and smaller search volumes and you want to combine those. Because it will up your chances of showing up in the top of that hashtag, because that's what you see when you search the word "microblading," you see the top and you also see what's most recent.
Kler Rosenberg:
You know what? Don't even ask me. I still don't understand Instagram. I just go and-
Sheila Bella:
They're doing a great job.
Kler Rosenberg:
[crosstalk 01:00:28], and I'm like, "Oh, I like this," so I put a heart, and then, "I like this," I put a heart. That's the use of Instagram that I have.
Sheila Bella:
Well, thank you for your hearts, because I really appreciate them whenever I see them.
Kler Rosenberg:
You're welcome. Then you appear all the time.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah.
Kler Rosenberg:
All the time.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah.
Kler Rosenberg:
Like all the time.
Sheila Bella:
That's my job. That's my job.
Kler Rosenberg:
I don't want to say that, but it's like a cockroach. It's everywhere, or ants.
Sheila Bella:
Good point. You want to be [crosstalk 01:00:57].
Kler Rosenberg:
Actually, you're like ants, you're everywhere.
Sheila Bella:
Good. I want to infest your Instagram house. I want there to be a Sheila Bella, Kler Rosenberg Instagram infestation.
Kler Rosenberg:
Infestation.
Sheila Bella:
That's what you want. Here's the thing, right? I'm talking about business coaching now, and a lot of you probably aren't going to budge. You're not going to budge, but you're going to hear this message about seven times different ways. I'm going to talk about it in reels. I'm going to talk about it in stories. I'm going to talk about it in the posts, and then next time you see a ton of holes in your calendar and you're like, "I wish I had more clients," or maybe next time you see that there's only two enrollments for your training next month, and you're like, "Oh, how am I going to fill this up," maybe you'll think about business coaching and how effective it is.
Kler Rosenberg:
True.
Sheila Bella:
There she is again. There's the Sheila cockroach. Fine.
Kler Rosenberg:
Sheila Cockroach. I'm going to change your name to Sheila Cockroach.
Sheila Bella:
Glad for it.
Kler Rosenberg:
Oh, my God. Okay. If your viewers had to leave with only one piece of information from this life, what should it be?
Sheila Bella:
Oh, man. One piece of information for this live is that just stop giving a shit, just stop giving a shit. Because look at Kler and I, we've stopped caring what people think.
Kler Rosenberg:
I really don't care.
Sheila Bella:
And life is so much better this way. Just be who you are. Post it on the internet. Who cares? Who cares? That's what people want anyway. They want real, so yeah, that's what I would say.
Kler Rosenberg:
Yeah, do a reel and be real.
Sheila Bella:
Oh, my gosh.
Kler Rosenberg:
Do your reel and be real, that's it. Okay. What tip, because it's almost done, your time is ticking, cockroach. They're going to step on you right now. What tip can they take to grow their Instagram? Did we talk about that? We just said that.
Sheila Bella:
I'll say it again. Use the new features, download SheilaBella.com/StrangersToClients, and be consistent. Don't judge your results too early. You've got to sing when nobody's listening. You've got to keep posting even if nobody cares. You just need to decide that you're important now. Your people are expecting you now. You just need to decide, and you have to decide every day for a very long time. You can't just like decide a couple times. No, you've got to be consistent obviously.
Kler Rosenberg:
Consistent. Consistent. Okay, got it. You know what? I almost forgot. I forgot my papers, and I'm old fashioned, so I was like, "Oh, my God, I've got to print my questions," you know? Then my husband goes, "Well, I couldn't find... You know what? I wrote them down for you." I'm like, "You are a good guy. You're a good guy." I almost forgot my green sheet, so let me see what is in the green sheet, okay?
Sheila Bella:
What's on the green sheet?
Kler Rosenberg:
I don't know. That was number two and I skipped it because it's green. It's hard to read, man. Okay.
Sheila Bella:
She's so honest.
Kler Rosenberg:
If your friends could describe you using only three words, what would they be? No, I don't want to hear that. Nope. I'm going to have something more important. Sheila, would you like to share with everyone why social media is so important in our industry?
Sheila Bella:
Yes. You're irrelevant without it. You're irrelevant without it. If business is going down for you, it's probably because you haven't learned social media, how to use social media to monetize, and you think it's just every month it might just kind of dip and dip a little bit. You are on your way out until you realize the need for modernizing, for pivoting, for just making sure that you're always staying up to date. It's very competitive. This is the way the world is going. This is just the direction of the world. Stop fighting it.
Kler Rosenberg:
If you're still advertising on magazines, stop, stop. You've got to stop that. Okay. Now, let me see what else is here. Hold on. Okay. What is the first thing you do or tell your coaching clients when they join your program?
Sheila Bella:
To use it. Use it, because we have six coaches inside Pretty Rich Bosses that you can turn to. We have a coach for social media, online courses, for Facebook ads and all things technology, for marketing, for sales, for mindset and branding. So we have all of these resources. My advice to people when they first join our program is to take advantage of every opportunity, every call, every coach. We're there to help you. I always tell them, "There are no stupid questions." The people that do the best in this program, and there's page full of testimonials, it's all over my page. The people who do the best in this program are the ones who when they need something, they ask.
Kler Rosenberg:
Of course.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah, so we encourage that. We will bug you. We will support you. It's not just a set of videos, just like PhiBrows, it's not just like a set of videos that you watch and then we never talk to you again. It's not like a couple thousand dollars for a weekend class doing hmm, hmm, hmm, and we never talk to you again. No, it's a three-month or a six-month program. This is a relationship. It's a relationship.
Kler Rosenberg:
I build relationships. I like that.
Sheila Bella:
Yeah.
Kler Rosenberg:
Okay. One more question. Could you please explain to us the importance of branding, branding?
Sheila Bella:
So branding is like dating. Just marketing itself, it's dating. Say, remember, Kler, back in your online days. So back in the day, so I used to go out in Hollywood, and I used to get all cute and everything because I wanted to find a husband. So when you-
Kler Rosenberg:
Well, it worked. It worked.
Sheila Bella:
It did. It did. I thought a couple. I like this one, though. I like this one. When I think about marketing and sales, so I think about marketing, marketing is like the visibility that you get on the internet. Let's say it's an ad. It's like a Facebook ad. That's marketing. Marketing is basically you having a guy on the shoulder saying, "Hey," right? Now, when he turns around, branding, that's your face and your personality.
Kler Rosenberg:
And your makeup and your hair and my pink hair, you see, is matching my Beauty Angel branding.
Sheila Bella:
It determines whether or not somebody's going to ask you out and stick around with you. Don't waste money on ads if you don't have your branding together. That's your face and your personality. That's the importance of branding.
Kler Rosenberg:
It's very, very important.
Sheila Bella:
Okay, it's your face and personality.
Kler Rosenberg:
Okay. How can they make their profile more personable and relatable to their followers?
Sheila Bella:
Okay, let's just start with-
Kler Rosenberg:
[crosstalk 01:09:12] these type of questions. This green sheet.
Sheila Bella:
That's a good one. Yay, Marcella. I mean, Kler. Sorry. So number one, permanent makeup artists, your IG bios don't make any sense to me. Your IG bios suck. They suck ass, let me just say, because, guys, your IG bio says... Okay, I'll just say it. It says PhiBrows this or that. Okay, listen... or wherever you got certified from, right? Now, if you are trying to attract other artists, then go ahead, put that on there, because who knows what that is? Other artists. If you're trying to impress other artists, put that on there. The average client doesn't give a crap.
Kler Rosenberg:
True.
Sheila Bella:
The average client doesn't care. The average client cares about themselves. They just care about their transformation, and I actually-
Kler Rosenberg:
And their eyebrows or-
Sheila Bella:
And their eyebrows. So how about using... Don't be weird. Stop being weird, you guys.
Kler Rosenberg:
Give an example of an aesthetician bio, somebody that she wrote with capital letters who really wants to know.
Sheila Bella:
An aesthetician bio, so I would, number one, figure out who it is that you help, who you help and what promises do you make.
Kler Rosenberg:
I'm going to take your wrinkles away and I'm going to pop your zits.
Sheila Bella:
Let's say I'm marketing to the people with acne. So I say, "I help women who work too hard get rid of adult acne in 60 days."
Kler Rosenberg:
Wow.
Sheila Bella:
Oh, that's-
Kler Rosenberg:
I like that. It's like a punch to the face. That's what you've got to do. You got to punch it in the face.
Sheila Bella:
Squeeze the pus out. That's what that is.
Kler Rosenberg:
Right. No, but it's so true, seriously, it's so true. Unless you are like an instructor or something, I guess it's different. Then you want to put what brand you trained with or stuff like that, because that's important, because that gives you credibility.
Sheila Bella:
If you want credibility, think about who you want credibility with.
Kler Rosenberg:
From, yeah, yeah, with... with, from?
Sheila Bella:
Yeah, if that helps, then, yeah, put it there, but half the time... You have to think about other people. Stop talking about yourself. Just think about other people first, like your customer first.
Kler Rosenberg:
Right.
Sheila Bella:
What does the customer really want to hear right now? Make it about her, not you. "Are you an overworked mom who wants to learn how to make a living on their own time doing microblading? Training available. DM me." Just be really specific.
Kler Rosenberg:
I like. What it, "Kler, on you on Clubhouse?" What is that?
Sheila Bella:
Clubhouse.
Kler Rosenberg:
What does that mean, Clubhouse?
Sheila Bella:
Clubhouse is a social media app. It's a new one.
Kler Rosenberg:
Oh. Oh. I'm going to be 47. I don't know what is Clubhouse. A clubhouse in my community, I'm going to be going for dinner tomorrow. I have a reservation in my clubhouse. I thought she was asking me, "Are you in your clubhouse? Maybe this is the background in your clubhouse."
Sheila Bella:
Clubhouse is an app.
Kler Rosenberg:
I feel so stupid. Oh, my God, I'm sorry.
Sheila Bella:
It's new, Kler, it's new.
Kler Rosenberg:
Listen. Listen. I'm going to get it right on that Clubhouse. I'm going to be there. Oh, my gosh. Do you know that we're done? One hour is finished.
Sheila Bella:
Wow.
Kler Rosenberg:
I have to invite you again. They loved it. They loved it.
Sheila Bella:

Kler Rosenberg:

Sheila Bella:
