I think one of the top things new entrepreneurs forget about when starting their businesses is self-awareness. We've got big plans, big dreams, and we don't feel like we have time to do any deep reflection into ourselves. We know what we want, we know pretty much the steps we need to take to get there, what more do we need?
The thing is - the best entrepreneurs, the ones who are the most successful, are the ones who truly know themselves. Because to be successful you have to know your weaknesses. You have to know your strengths too, of course. But if you're blind to your weaknesses then you're going to have a lot of weaknesses in your business as well that you're not aware of. And those weaknesses are either going to slow you down or bring you down.
In my program Pretty Rich Bosses, we do a lot of self-reflection. We do a lot of deep diving - because I want all of our students to know themselves and find...
Do people give you that look when you tell them your job is in the beauty industry? You know the one, the one full of judgment like you're doing something evil just because it's related to beauty and aesthetics?
Well, beauty boss, I'm tired of being shamed for wanting to be beautiful. I'm tired of this stigma behind pretty - this idea that you can't celebrate beauty just as much as you celebrate knowledge. I think it's important to be a well-rounded person, don't you? And beauty is powerful.
Beauty is confidence.
For this episode of Pretty Rich Podcast I got some of my favorite beauty bosses in the industry together to share our feelings on this stigma behind pretty, wanting to be beautiful, being judged by others, and the power of confidence that comes from beauty - whatever beauty means to you.
This is a really powerful episode. So what are you waiting for?
...
That's right! We're about to get you booked out. How?
Well, I brought together some of my friends in the PMU industry that are great speakers and educators to talk all about the strategies WE use in our successful beauty businesses to get booked out.
I've got Royal and M'Lisa of Spa Strong, Ali Lilly of Lash Anarchist, and Paul Lebbbers of Lash Cast! It's a dream team, what can I say? We're giving you a TON of value in this episode and it's all FREE. So what are you waiting for?
Let's get you booked out, beauty boss!
Here are the episode highlights:
‣‣ [14:54] The most important part of my personal strategy to getting booked out is establishing repeatable habits that bring new clients to your business consistently.
‣‣ [16:27] These are some of the habits that you NEED to be implementing with every client so that they not only return...
Yeah, you heard me. I'm ready to tell all.
I am going to share, in detail, my 2021 social media strategy. I am literally going to tell you exactly what my strategy is for this year to experience MASSIVE growth not just on social media but within my business. I'm talking new clients, more sales, more interaction.

It's not the algorithm. You have complete control over your success. So I'm just going to hand you my social media strategy and we're going to make 2021 a success together. Let's do this.
Here are the episode highlights:
‣‣ [02:48 What is the problem with your social media growth? Why are you stunted? I'll tell you EXACTLY why. And it's not the algorithm.

You HAVE to get over yourself.
We're serving up some tough love in this episode, okay? Because I love you - I do. I want you to succeed. I want you to be the BEST you can be.
But if you are just dragging yourself down day after day, woe is me, complaining and crying about how hard it is for you to build this business of your dreams right now - for WHATEVER reason - that's just not it, mama. Look me in the eye and tell me you're your best self right now. Go on. Do it. Exactly.
Life happens okay I get it. COVID hit us all! It came in like a little wrecking ball and knocked all of us down and we didn't even see it coming. But you know who made it out a winner last year? Those who didn't quit. The people that didn't give up. The people who got knocked down, cried about it for a little bit, and then got their butts back up and got to work. The...
2020 was one of my worst years for my business. I know a lot of people could probably say the same thing. But here's the thing: it was also the best year for my business.
I know you're like "what Sheila? How can it be both?" And I understand the confusion. When quarantine started in March, I came crashing down. I was at my lowest of lows, the brokest I'd been since I'd started in PMU. BUT I turned it around and ended up having my most successful, most lucrative month in my business ever, this past December.
I don't say it to brag. I say it because I want you to know that you can do the same thing. I made a lot of money last year and I plan on making more this year. But in order to get to this level - we have to talk about the cold hard truth of making money. We're lifting the veil, okay? We're talking about it. So if you want to know how you can make this your best year yet, if you want some serious...
It's been one crazy year. Totally unpredictable. And it's been really hard for a lot of us. My salon has been shut down for most of the year. We shut down in March, opened for a little while in June, and then shut down again. Some people have completely lost their brick and mortar, some people have just had to totally shut down.
One thing that this year has taught me is the magic of a pivot. I think we all have to be prepared to pivot at any time - that's the key to survival. So maybe we can't plan everything down to a tee for 2021 BUT we can prepare ourselves to shift our business at any moment.
So for this episode, we have the incredibly talented Mimi Johnson, microblader, influencer, and beauty brand marketer. Since getting into the business she's become a pro at the pivot and she has some really great advice for all of you who have struggled through this...
Because mama if you really want to be rich, if you've got some big financial plans for the new year, we have to get some things straight, okay? No more of these spaghetti entrepreneur tactics okay? In 2021 you shouldn't just be throwing all of these strategies at your business and hoping they stick. We're gonna be intentional about it.
I'm an expert in building a successful business. I'm not gonna be shy about it. I've built two successful businesses myself AND helped so many other incredible PMU artists build their own successful businesses through my program Pretty Rich Bosses. I know what I'm talking about. And in this episode, I'm going to share with you the NUMBER ONE thing you need to be doing if you want to be rich and successful. It's truly, in my expert opinion, the most important thing. So enough sitting around - let's just get right into it.
Here are the episode highlights:

That's honesty with yourself, honesty with your customers, and honesty in your marketing. That can sound scary to a lot of people. A lot of us grow up thinking that we have to hide parts of ourselves to be accepted or to feel like we belong.
Savanna Boda, the beautiful and talented Dallas Esthetician, has experienced a lifetime of hiding and minimizing herself for the sake of others. But when she learned to be honest with herself and honest in her social media - when she started to show up as who she TRULY is and not who she feels she needs to be - well, the girl's 23, and she's already experienced massive success in such a short time.
I love Savanna. I feel like we're twins. I mean just look at our IG accounts! She's a girl after my own heart, truly. That's why I wanted to have her on my podcast - because I know you're going to LOVE her. She gives a lot of really good insight on social media sales, how...
A lot of beauty business owners will get to the point in their careers where they have all of the clients they wanted, are booked out months in advance the way they wanted, but they're not making the money they wanted. They're stressed out and all signs point to needing to hire more people for their team.
But that's scary, right? Because you're at the point you wanted to reach, you're in a place where you're comfortable, but suddenly there's a change in front of you that's scary. But that fear is typically a sign of growth. And if you want to make more money in your business then you have to grow and if you want to grow you have to do the uncomfortable things. Like I say, you have to do it scared. That's how I did it.
Here are the episode highlights:
‣‣ [02:05] This is the problem with being overbooked. It can feel good to say - but it's actually a SIGN...
